Year Two Homework Week Beginning: 01.05.17 Theme: Life now and then Spellings Our spellings this week are words with the ‘ee’ sound spelt ‘ey’ at the end of words. Please look at the spellings on the other side of the sheet to practice. Common exception words: everybody, even, clothes, children, climb, because English & Curriculum During Curriculum we will be learning about Watford now compared with 100 years ago. Talk to your family and friends and find out what has changed in Watford since they have lived here. Research what Watford may have looked like 100 years ago. Please also practice your spellings in joined up handwriting as we have been developing this over the last few weeks. We will continue to learn about Tinga Tales in English and Art. Think about and describe the setting you will use for your own story and piece of artwork. Jot down some ideas ready to share in class. P4C Maths Would you rather be a giant or the same size as a mouse? We will be recapping areas that we have learned throughout the year in the following weeks. Log on to Mathletics and have a go at the activities that have been set for you. Remember to use the ? button if you need any help. Reading Please continue to read with your child every day and ask them questions about what they are going to read or have read. When they answer your questions, ask them to prove it – find where it says that in the story. Challenge yourself and go up against other children in Mathletics live. Continue to practice your times tables every day and if you become confident with your 2, 5 and 10 times tables, move on to your 3 times tables. Reminder Please ensure all PE kits, including trainers, are in school as soon as possible. Now that it is the summer term we will be using the outside space a lot more so please make sure the children have jumpers and trousers as well as shorts and t-shirts. Please also make sure the children have their book bags every day and that they have their books as we will change them at different points in the week. Don’t forget to write in the children’s link books to let us know how they are getting on.
