Traditionally, Bomba music genre has remained on its original style state, to preserve tradition. That was
until La Tribu de Abrante, from Loiza-Puerto Rico, proposed to do what nobody else dared to do, to modernize
our Puerto Rican Bomba and expose it to the world. The music fusion combines Loiza’s Bomba roots with
the most genuine rhythms of the urban music culture.
The group fusions the autochthonous Bomba rhythms with “Seis Corrido y Rulé”, reggaeton beats and hiphop influences, to create a unique sound, not only attractive to the Caribbean music lovers, but to everyone
in Latin America. The distinctive melodies are a result of combining drums, trombone, trumpet and saxophone with a fusion of other popular Caribbean rhythms and topped them with vivid lyrics. Hiram Abrante,
the group leader accomplished to transform a genre that was untouched for almost a century, and created
a unique music style that has managed to captivate younger generations, without losing the essence of the
traditional Bomba roots. By doing so, his music has transcended geographical and generational boundaries.
La Tribu de Abrante brings to life Bomba’s classical rhythms with a contemporary urban twist. The musical
group, made of young Puerto Ricans, is out to become groundbreakers within the Bomba genre, all the while
keeping honest the values and traditions represented by this national music genre of our “isla del encanto”.
La Tribu de Abrante has had a massive success, with fully booked agenda sponsored by major brands and
international media. So far in 2016, popularity is increasing, attracting a much wider music demographic
market in Puerto Rico. The anticipated new production named “Otro Formato de Música” will be launched
by the renowned label White Lion Records, presided by the acclaimed producer, Elías de León.

The brainchild of Hiram Abrante, La Tribu de Abrante, has created their own sound
by blending the native rhythm of Puerto Rico, “La Bomba”, with urban rhythms like
Hip Hop and Reggaeton. Their lyrics filled with humor spread happiness and
speak to the fans in their own language transcending frontiers bringing “La Bomba”
to a whole new generation.
La Tribu de Abrante are breaking boundaries making them this year’s musical revelation.
Hiram Abrante got his start singing back-up for Tego Calderón. In 2010 La Tribu de Abrante
was born, today it is composed of 10 Puerto Rican musicians most of them family and friends
from Loiza, where Abrante is also from.
One of the hottest acts coming out of Puerto Rico, La Tribu de Abrante,
have recently released their first album “Otro Formato De Música” which debut
at the TOP of the sales charts.

• Abrante started playing percussion at just five years old in church
• By age 15 he decided to study “Bomba”. His first group Bataklan toured around the USA and Puerto Rico
• At age 19 he was already part of Tego Calderón’s band giving him a chance to tour and learn from one of the greats
