Who Am I?
A way I
would like to be
described is
creative, kind,
and responsible.
If you walk into

would see every

that I drew. If
you feel sad, I’ll

happier. If I
make a mistake,
I will take the consequences because I

Plants
Do you think
plants are interesting organisms? Organisms are living
things. Plants need
water, carbon dioxide, minerals, energy, and sunlight
to survive. Plants
are organisms. The
parts of a plant are
roots, stem, and
leaves. Each part
has a very important job.
The roots are
the part of the plant
that grows underground. They take
Sunflowers in Kansas
in water, nutrients,
and minerals from
the soil. They help
hold the plant in
the soil. They deliver the water, nutrients, and minerals to the stem.
The stem
carries water, nutrients, and minerals
from the roots. It
supports the plant.
It also helps the
plant stand upright.
It carries food from
its leaves to other
plant parts.
Leaves have
chlorophyll, and
chlorophyll traps
energy from the
sunlight. They take
in sunlight. They
use the sun’s energy, carbon dioxide, and water to
make food for the
plant. They are the
main food-making
part of the plant.
If plants didn’t exist, then people never exist because people need
plants to survive.
The Life Cycle of an Animal
Ladybug’s life cycle
THE
Want to learn
about the life cycle
of an animal? The
life cycle of an animal is birth, growth
and change, reproduction, and death.
Birth is when an animal’s life cycle begins. Growth and
change is when the
animal may take on
new form. Reproduc-

tion is when a female
animal makes more
of its own kind.
Death is when the
animal’s life ends.
First, a female animal gives birth to a
male (man) or a female (woman) animal. Then, that animal grows and
changes (takes on
new form and
changes color). If
the animal is a female (woman), then
that animal gives
birth to more animals
that are a copy (its
DNA is different).
Sadly, but finally the
animal dies, which
starts a new life cycle.

Rainbow Fishtail
bracelet
How to Make a Rainbow Loom Bracelet
Have you ever saw different kinds of Rainbow
Loom creations? There are
rings, bracelets such as the
Single Loom, Fishtail,
Bridge Style, and Waterfall
bracelets. I am going to
teach you how to make a
Single Loom bracelet. You
will need colorful bands, a
hook for looping, and a
loom.
First, place a red
band on the 2nd and 3rd peg
of the loom. Before you do
that, make sure there are no
broken bands. Then, place
an orange band on top of
the red band’s end. This is
the next part of your bracelet. Next, add a yellow
band, then a green band,
and then blue bands, then a
purple band, and so on just
like all Rainbow Loom
creations. Now you loop the
2nd band’s end to the 3rd
band’s end and repeat until
you reach the last band’s
end. Do you have a problem? Try hooking the band
back through its last band’s
created hole, then try redoing the looping pattern
again. After that, make a
knot by putting the right
side over the left side and
pull. You can even untie the
knot if you didn’t make it
too tight. Last, clip on a clip
of your choice just like all
bracelet designs. Finally,
just tug off the bands. Is the
bracelet too small? Make it
bigger by adding more
bands using the hook.
Now that you have
made a bracelet, you can try
even harder designs like the
Fishtail. You can try rings
like the Starburst Ring, or
you can try band buddies
like the Soccer Star. Have
fun making more Rainbow
Loom creations!
Saving Our Water
You should conserve water because if you
use more than you need,
then there wouldn’t be
enough water in the future
for animals and of course
humans. Conserve means to
use only what you need.
The article Save Our Water
and the video Adventures of
EcoRilla are about different
ways to conserve water. I
’m going to conserve water
by only what I need, and
using tap water for
drinking.
One way to
conserve water is by
using only what is
truly needed. I can
conserve water by
cutting my shower
time from 5 minutes
to 2 minutes which
can save about 27
liters of water. Sometimes I
Save water
THE
VICTOR
HERALD
take quick 1-minute showers, which saves 100 liters
of water. According to the
article Save Our Water says
you can conserve 17 liters
of water by taking a quick
shower, and the video Adventures of EcoRilla says
that if you shave minutes
off your shower time, you
can conserve 17 liters of
water and 9 liters of water
of water added together.
The other way I
can conserve water is by
using only what I only
need. In the article Save
Our Water says that you can
remind others near you,
friends, even your family
members not to leave any
faucets running so you can
use what you truly need.
I can use what I
only need by turning off
running faucets. I can also
conserve water by cutting
my shower time by minutes.
Remember, all living things
need water to survive. Try
doing one of these methods
or make up one of your
own. Remember, you can
make a difference! You can
tell anyone you know or
like how to conserve water
by finding a leaky toilet by
pouring a couple drops of
any food coloring in the
water tank. If the water in
the bowl has changed the
same color as the food coloring, then that toilet is a
leaky toilet. Now you can
tell the teacher if you are at
school, or you can tell one
of your parents that toilet in
that bathroom is leaky.

Rocks and Minerals
to talk about are
igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks.
Igneous
rocks are firemade, and they
form when volcanoes erupt. They form inside
Earth where the melted rock
cools slowly, but when they
form on Earth’s surface where
the melted rock cools quickly.
These rocks form when melted
rock cools and hardens into
rocks such as granite and basalt.
Sedimentary rocks
form when sand, mud, and peb-
bles at the bottom of rivers,
lakes, and oceans pile up. They
also form when these bits of
sand, mud, and pebbles press
together and cement into solid
rocks such as sandstone, siltstone, and shale.
Metamorphic rocks form
through squeezing and heating.
They mean a change in form.
People use rocks for
lots of different things such as
chalk, pencils, and sidewalks.
My favorite mineral is a clear
diamond.
won’t’ need to go out to walk
your cat. You can just throw
your cat a ball of yarn, and it’ll
start excising by just playing
with that ball of yarn. You can
still take your cat out to play,
cats save more of your energy
rather than dogs.
Cats don’t need a lot of
training because they are nice.
These cats can be taught how to
fetch a ball, but it’s up to you to
pick if you want to train your
cat or not. Dogs need to be
trained even if you want quiet
time. Cats don’t need a lot of
training compared to dogs.
Cats are better than
dogs because they are quiet,
cute, save more energy than
dogs, and doesn’t need a lot of
companionship compared to
dogs. The Turkish van cat I
once had was a pregnant female,
and it gave birth to a cute kitten
that had an orange tail and a
white body. It also has an orange head.
Rocks and
Minerals
Minerals are a substance that is found in nature
that is not a plant or animal.
They are what all rocks are
made of. Also, minerals are the
building blocks of rocks. The
three types of rocks I’m going
Cats Rule!
Most people like dogs, but I
think cats are the best. Cats are
better than dogs because they
are quiet, cute, save more energy than dogs, and doesn’t
need too much companionship
compared to dogs. Also, the
cats’ kitten, such as the Turkish
van kitten, is very cute and playful. It mostly sleeps during the
day. This passage states that
cats are better than dogs.
Cats are quiet because
they don’t disturb anyone and
anyplace even in stores. These
cats purr quietly, and are highly
unlikely for neighbors to hear.
These cats purr and mew quietly. My cat only mews and
purrs quietly. Dogs bark loudly,
but cats either stay silent, or
sleep all day long, snoring silently. This paragraph states
that cats are quieter than dogs.
If it’s raining outside,
and you have a cat, then you

but it still will like playing indoors. The cat I once had liked
playing with a ball of yarn. If
you had a dog, then you would
have to walk it even in a rainstorm. This paragraph states that

Summary-Fly, Eagle, Fly!
The story
Fly, Eagle, Fly is
an African tale. A
farmer went out to
search for a lost
calf, but all that he
found was a baby
eagle. He searched
everywhere, but
Fly, Eagle, Fly!
he couldn’t find
the lost calf anywhere. The farmer
tried to convince
his friend that the
bird was a
chicken. He didn’t
believe what the
farmer said was
true. The eagle finally flew. It followed the sky, and
it never again
went to live
among the chickens.
Smart Dog
The story
Smart Dog is humorous fiction.
Charlie wanted to
train his dog Toby
to sit. Next, his
sister, Eileen
wanted to bet
that if Toby
learned a trick,
then Eileen had to
do all 3 chores,
and if Toby didn’t
