An Act to apply certain sums out of the
Consolidated Revenue Fund, the Government
Railways Fund, the Road Transport and
Traffic Fund, the Metropolitan Transport
Trust General Fund, the Newcastle and
District Transport Trust General Fund, and
the Sydney Harbour Trust Fund, towards
the services of the Year 1938-1939. [Assented
to, 6th October, 1938.]
W
H E R E A S we Your Majesty's most dutiful and
loyal subjects, the Members of the Legislative
Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled,
have resolved to grant to your Majesty the sum of Six
millions five hundred and twenty-two thousand three
hundred pounds, that is to say—
Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, the sum
of Three millions three hundred and eighty-seven
thousand eight hundred pounds, being the sum
required to defray the expenses of the various
Departments and Services of the State during
the months of October and November or following month, of the financial year ending thirtieth
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-nine.
Out of the Government Railways Fund, the sum of
Two millions three hundred and forty-seven
thousand eight hundred pounds to defray the
salaries, maintenance and working expenses and
other
other expenses of the D e p a r t m e n t of Railways
d u r i n g the m o n t h s of October a n d November or
following m o n t h of the financial y e a r ending
t h i r t i e t h d a y of J u n e , one t h o u s a n d nine h u n d r e d
a n d thirty-nine.
Out of the R o a d T r a n s p o r t a n d Traffic F u n d , the s u m
of Ninety-eight t h o u s a n d five h u n d r e d p o u n d s
to defray the salaries, m a i n t e n a n c e a n d w o r k i n g
expenses a n d o t h e r expenses of the D e p a r t m e n t
of R o a d T r a n s p o r t a n d T r a m w a y s d u r i n g the
m o n t h s of October a n d N o v e m b e r or following
m o n t h of the financial y e a r ending t h i r t i e t h d a y
of J u n e , one t h o u s a n d nine h u n d r e d a n d
thirty-nine.
Out of the M e t r o p o l i t a n T r a n s p o r t T r u s t General
F u n d , the s u m of F i v e h u n d r e d a n d seventyeight t h o u s a n d eight h u n d r e d p o u n d s to d e f r a y
the salaries, m a i n t e n a n c e a n d w o r k i n g expenses
a n d other expenses of the D e p a r t m e n t of R o a d
T r a n s p o r t a n d T r a m w a y s d u r i n g the m o n t h s of

m a i n t e n a n c e a n d w o r k i n g expenses a n d o t h e r
expenses of the D e p a r t m e n t of R o a d T r a n s p o r t
a n d T r a m w a y s d u r i n g the m o n t h s of October
a n d November or following m o n t h of t h e finan­
cial y e a r ending t h i r t i e t h d a y of J u n e , one thou­
s a n d nine h u n d r e d a n d thirty-nine.
Out of the S y d n e y H a r b o u r T r u s t F u n d , the s u m
of Sixty-six t h o u s a n d six h u n d r e d p o u n d s to
defray t h e salaries, m a i n t e n a n c e a n d w o r k i n g
expenses a n d other expenses of the M a r i t i m e
Services B o a r d of New S o u t h W a l e s d u r i n g the
m o n t h s of October a n d N o v e m b e r or following
m o n t h of the financial y e a r ending t h i r t i e t h d a y
of J u n e , one t h o u s a n d nine h u n d r e d a n d t h i r t y nine.
A n d w h e r e a s we desire to m a k e good out of the said
F u n d s the sum so g r a n t e d to H i s M a j e s t y : B e it t h e r e f o r e
enacted

with the advice a n d consent of the Legislative Council
a n d Legislative Assembly of New South W a l e s in P a r l i a ­

resolved to be g r a n t e d to H i s Majesty, the sum of

g r a n t e d to H i s Majesty, the s u m of F i v e h u n d r e d a n d
seventy-eight t h o u s a n d eight h u n d r e d pounds to be
expended at the r a t e s which have been sanctioned for
the financial y e a r ended t h i r t i e t h day of J u n e , one
t h o u s a n d nine h u n d r e d a n d thirty-eight, to defray the
salaries, m a i n t e n a n c e a n d w o r k i n g expenses a n d other
expenses of the D e p a r t m e n t of R o a d T r a n s p o r t a n d
T r a m w a y s , d u r i n g the m o n t h s of October a n d November
or following m o n t h of the financial y e a r ending t h i r t i e t h

6. Out of the S y d n e y H a r b o u r T r u s t F u n d t h e r e shall

good the S u p p l y so resolved to be g r a n t e d to H i s Majesty,
the sum of Sixty-six t h o u s a n d six h u n d r e d p o u n d s to be
expended at the r a t e s which h a v e been sanctioned for t h e
financial
financial y e a r ended t h i r t i e t h day of J u n e , one t h o u s a n d
nine h u n d r e d a n d thirty-eight, to d e f r a y the salaries,
maintenance a n d w o r k i n g expenses a n d other expenses of
the M a r i t i m e Services B o a r d of New S o u t h W a l e s d u r i n g
the m o n t h s of October a n d November or following m o n t h
of the financial y e a r ending t h i r t i e t h d a y of J u n e , one
t h o u s a n d nine h u n d r e d a n d thirty-nine, subject to the
r a t e of a n y reduction t h a t m a y h e r e a f t e r be m a d e in the
e x p e n d i t u r e of the y e a r 1938-1939.
7 . T h e T r e a s u r e r shall issue a n d p a y the said sums
for the Services aforesaid in such m a n n e r a n d in such
p r o p o r t i o n s as the Governor, b y W a r r a n t s or O r d e r s
in w r i t i n g u n d e r his hand, a n d directed to t h e said
T r e a s u r e r , shall from time to time o r d e r a n d direct.
A n d the p a y m e n t s so to be m a d e shall be c h a r g e d u p o n
a n d p a i d out of the Consolidated Revenue F u n d , the
G o v e r n m e n t R a i l w a y s F u n d , the R o a d T r a n s p o r t a n d
Traffic F u n d , the M e t r o p o l i t a n T r a n s p o r t T r u s t General
F u n d , the Newcastle a n d District T r a n s p o r t T r u s t
General F u n d , a n d the S y d n e y H a r b o u r T r u s t F u n d ,
respectively.
8. The T r e a s u r e r shall in his accounts from time to
t i m e be allowed credit for all sums of money p a i d by
him in p u r s u a n c e of such W a r r a n t s or O r d e r s . A n d the
receipts of the respective p e r s o n s to whom the same shall
be so p a i d shall be full a n d valid discharges to the said
T r e a s u r e r in p a s s i n g his said accounts for such sums as
shall be t h e r e i n mentioned, a n d he shall receive credit for
the same accordingly.
9 . This Act m a y be cited as the " S u p p l y Act, 1 9 3 8 . "
