Loyalty Scheme - Arts and Crafts.org

January 2015
Well it’s the start of brand new year I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year.
All of this year’s fairs are now on the website so you can book the fairs you want to attend
throughout the year.
Loyalty Scheme
Alan has decided to reward traders for their regular attendance at fairs with
artsandcraftfairs.org so a Loyalty Scheme will operate for 2015/2016.
For every 10 fairs a trader attends will entitle the trader to a free fair at any
artsandcraftfairs.org fair up to the 31st October. Traders will not be able to claim a free fair
between the 1st November and 31st December or for certain other fairs. However,
attending any of these fairs’ will count towards the traders 10 fairs.
When a trader has attended their 10th fair they will be sent by email a Voucher Code which
can be used to claim the free fair.
The following terms and conditions will apply to the Loyalty Scheme.
1) A trader will be entitled to a free fair for every 10 paid fairs they attend
2) After attending every paid 10th fair the trader will be issued a Voucher Code which
can be used at any fair between the 1st February and the 31st October.
3) The issuing of a Voucher Code may take up to 7 working days.
4) When the trader wants to claim their free fair they will enter a valid Voucher Code in
the appropriate field during the booking process.
Artsandcraftfairs.org will check that the trader has entered a valid voucher code.
 If the Voucher Code is valid the fair will be updated as paid in the traders
account.
 If the Voucher Code is not valid the trader will be informed of the reasons by
email.
5) Where a trader books different table types at fairs the Voucher Code that is issued
will be for the table type that the trader has booked the most of.
The following table gives some examples of the type of table a trader is entitled to
based on the table types previously booked by the trader.

New Speciality Market for Ilkeston
This article appeared on Erewash Borough Council’s
website about a speciality Tuesday market for Ilkeston:
‘A move to hold speciality Tuesday markets in Ilkeston
has been given the green light by Erewash Borough
Council.
Councilors at Thursday’s (22 January) Executive
meeting have agreed that the council can establish and
Page 2 of 6
operate the new market – with the first one possibly being Shrove Tuesday speciality stalls
on Tuesday 17 February.
The idea is part of the council’s on-going programme to help regenerate Ilkeston town
centre through a wide range of initiatives.
Funds already available will be used to stage the proposed Shrove Tuesday market and if
that proves successful in attracting traders and visitors to Ilkeston opportunities for further
markets would then be explored.
Councillor Geoffrey Smith, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Regeneration
and Planning says:
Specialty markets can be very popular and add to the attractiveness and vitality of a town
centre. We need to put the framework in place to enable us to look at occasional speciality
Tuesday market for Ilkeston as we continue our drive to help boost our town centres.’
West Bridgford Halloween Fair
The West Bridgford Halloween fair was a great success with
approximately 6500 people going through the marquees during
the two days of the fair.
The entertainment provided by Alan was excellent with the stilt
walkers and fire eaters provided by the company Code Red.
The winner of the Halloween pumpkin competition for the traders
was judged by Code Red who chose Zena West as the winner.
Derby at Christmas
It was the second year of the Christmas fair in
the Market Place, Derby ran from 3rd to the 21st
December and again the marquees were
positioned next to the Ice Rink.

Derby Live provided entertainment on each of the three
Saturdays and included Santa’s Band (above) and stilt
walkers in fancy dress (right).
On the first Saturday there were also four real
penguins on display for the public, although there was
a demonstration by animal rights activists. This did not
affect the trade in the marquees.
