B U T L E R U N I V E R S I T Y FAM I LY WEEKEND 201 3 FAMILY WEEKEND 2013 Dear Butler Families, As I write this, our sons and daughters are quickly adjusting to life on the beautiful Butler campus. Many of them are living away from home for the first time. They are making new friends and hopefully getting up in time to get to their classes, doing their homework and laundry, and most importantly, enjoying campus life at Butler. Butler is now their home. I would like to invite you to come to campus in November and learn more about their experiences, while getting to know more about the Butler campus yourselves. Butler University’s 2013 Family Weekend is Nov. 8–10. This special weekend provides parents like us an opportunity to visit with our sons and daughters at their “home away from home,” to enjoy a personal tour of campus, or to experience a typical day in the life of a Butler student. There are a variety of activities offered that provide a great opportunity for family members of all ages to take part in campus life. Come Friday evening and enjoy open houses, a Butler women’s basketball or men’s soccer game, or family activities like the Planetarium show or boat float challenge. On Saturday, you will find informational sessions, campus activities, and athletic events. Bring the entire family and enjoy the Butler vs. Valparaiso football game or check out a men’s basketball game in historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. There will also be a food truck lunch where you can meet members of the faculty and staff. On Sunday, the Butler sororities will be hosting open houses for freshman and sophomore women, and the Butler choir will have a performance in Atherton Union. The enclosed schedule provides details of the on-campus events available to you. We are confident you will enjoy each of those you choose to attend. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Office of Alumni and Parent Programs at (800) 368-6852, ext. 9946.
