Steve Charney is a magician, ventriloquist, musician, radio guy, author, songwriter and all
around nut. He’s published several children’s
books. He’s performed his zany stage act of
magic, music and ventriloquism for over 30
years from Africa to California. Harry sprang
from Steve’s imagination 30 years ago and has
been going like gangbusters ever since. His
unique style of verbal mayhem and wacky antics makes him the real star of the show. However, he does prefer to be called a Wooden
American, not a dummy!

Chicken Pot Pirates Hailing from the mystical
kingdom of eastern Massachusetts, the
Chicken Pot Pirates create a whirlwind of hyperactive hilarity! With boatloads of stories,
songs, skits, jokes, and games, audience participation is unavoidable! These electric eccentrics are Capt Fitz, a science teacher and
mustache model who lives in a submerged
pineapple; Col Bo, who has a passion for the
banjo, a semi-angelic singing voice, and a
rather large nose; and Astronaut Steve, a certified rocket surgeon who hails from the great

Sarah Gardner Playing is more fun than just
watching! Sarah brings instruments along so
kids can get to jam along during her sets and
become part of the band. Growing up in a musical family, Sarah was sad to find out that not all
kids had the chance to have musical instruments in their hands at early ages. She went to
her first Berkshire Mountain bluegrass festival
at the age of 12 and got hooked on bluegrass
and all forms of music. After touring with various rock and jazz groups she discovered her
greatest joy is entertaining children. "Seeing
that spark of realizing they can actually make
music is the best thing in the world." Her CDs
have garnered Parent's Choice and Creative
Child Magazine awards. Even if you are not a

Lew Gelfond brings his lively fiddle and dance
program to the Family Stage and makes it easy
for young'ns to dance along and get in the
spirit. Lew lives and performs in Asheville, NC
with The Dancing Bears contra dance band,
Blue Heaven Swing Band and Screech Owl
Serenade playing old-timey ballads, bluegrass
and swing. It's all about rhythm and great fiddle

Diane Kordas has been a performing for families since 1992 and a performer at Grey Fox
family stage for over 15 years! With beautiful
puppets and great stories, her puppet shows
are a favorite with audiences throughout New

Gary the Silent Clown
Gary the Silent Clown’s show begins with the
former Ringling Bros clown applying his
grease paint, donning a green yak-hair wig and
pointy hat, and transforming himself into a
master clown right before our eyes. The next
thing we know, we’ve entered the world of
laughter and joy. Whether juggling, balancing
a brave volunteer on his shoulders while riding
a unicyle, or creating art from kids’ squiggles
on paper, Gary takes us on an unforgettable
journey. Hey, if you’re a rising 6th grader & up,
sign up early to participate in the Grey Fox
Clown College, taught by Gary. Then strut your
stuff on Saturday afternoon. Big fun!
Tom Lilly & Beowulf the Wonder Bunny
That strange looking guy in the Hawaiian shirt
and saddle shoes is Tom Lilly, who combines
magic, juggling, fire-eating, and balloonacy
with loads of audience participation to produce a show that leaves all ages laughing —
and wondering! Try as he may, Beowulf can
never quite get Tom to behave like an adult.
You’ll be laughing out loud and grinning from

Astrograss has been a favorite on the Family
Stage since 2007. Formed in Brooklyn, NY in
2003, the band has 3 CDs of family folk music,
featuring its own brand of high energy bluegrass, old-time, Celtic music and humorous
original songs. Its latest CD, "The Colored Pencil Factory" won the Parent's Choice Silver
Honor and the New York Times wrote, "You
