In some ways little Willy and Grandfather are opposites. Little Willy is determined to find out what
is wrong with Grandfather and make him well again. On the other hand Grandfather has completely
given up. Grandfather won’t even try to get out of bed and talk about the problem which the
reader and little Willy do not know at this point in the story.
