Depending on your arrival flight time you could vist the famous Dambulla Cave
Temple. (Approx: Travel Time – Sigiriya – Dambulla– 30 mins)
Dambulla is a large town, situated in the Matale District, Central Province of Sri Lanka,
situated 72 km (45 mi) north of Kandy. Due to its location at a major junction, it's the
centre of vegetable distribution in the country.
Major attractions of the area include the largest and best preserved cave temple
complex of Sri Lanka, and the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, famous for being
built in just 167 days. The area also boasts the largest rose quartz mountain range in
South Asia, and the Iron wood forest, or Na Uyana Aranya.

Day 02. : Sigiriya.
After breakfast, climb the Sigiriya Rock fortress while witnessing the wildlife inside
the Sigiriya Archeological site .
Sigiriya - the 5th Century Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a world heritage site, built by
King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200
metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare
fortified town. A Moat, Rampart, and extensive Gardens including the renowned Water
Gardens ring the base of the Rock.

Day 03. : Sigiriya/ Kandy.
After breakfast proceed to Kandy via Knuckles Mountain Range(Approx.: travel time 04
hrs.)
The Knuckles range is one of the loveliest nature attractions of Sri Lanka. The changing
terrain of grasslands, rugged mountain peaks interspersed with streams and cascading
waterfalls make Knuckles mountain range that covers an area of 18512 hectares the
trekker’s paradise.

On completion proceed to Kandy.
Kandy where traditional culture abounds was the last stronghold of Sri Lankan kings
conqueredby the colonial rulers. It is richly set against Tea and Spice lands, surrounded
with hills through which the Mahaweli, the longest River in the Island, beautifully winds
it’s way.
In the evening visit the Dalada Maligawa, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the
Buddha, is the major tourist attraction in Kandy and is located spectacularly against a
vast serene lake. The Tooth Relic is a symbol of sovereignty and receives state
protection.
The preserved stuffed Tusker that ceremoniously carried the tooth relic in the past
during the annual parade is an inspiring sight. There are also British colonial buildings
that had been established in 1815.

Day 04. : Kandy/ NuwaraEliya ( Welimada ) .
After b’fast at the hotel start the village visit in Kandy .

NuwaraEliya - The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of
Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the
coldest places on the Island, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the
temperature does drop at night. All around NuwaraEliya you will see evidence of the
British influence. Houses are like Country Cottages or Queen Ann style Mansions.
Sri Lankan Tea - Tea was first planted in Sri Lanka in 1824 at the Botanical Gardens at
Peradeniya, when a few plants were brought from China. More were introduced from
Assam in 1839. In 1867, a Scottish Planter named James Taylor planted Tea Seedlings
on 8 hectares of forest land, in the Loolkandura Estate. In 1873, the Tea export industry
of Sri Lanka began with a modest 23lbs being shipped to London. Tea will grow only on
rolling terrain. It is classified into3 main groups as Low Grown, Medium Grown, High
Grown.

Check-into The Uva Ben Head Tea Plantation Bungalow in Welimada.
The area is fringed by Hills and High Mountains, amongst them the spectacular trident
of Hakgala, Pidurutalagala (Mt. Pedro) and Totupola, The Island’s highest and third
highest peaks. All three can be seen from Uva Ben Head.

Day 05. : NuwaraEliya / Horton Plains/ NuwaraEliya.
Early morning visit to Horton Plains National Park, with a picnic breakfast.
Horton Plain is a gently undulating highland plateau at 2,100m, lying at the south and
of the Central Highlands, its surroundings forests and the adjoining Peak Wilderness,
constitute Sri Lanka’s most important catchment area of almost all major rivers. The
plains are also of outstanding scenic beauty and conservation importance, containing
most of the habitats and endemic fauna and flora representatives of the country’s wet
and montane zones. The western slops support the most extensive area of montane
cloud forest surviving in the country.

Witness the Baker’s Falls and World’s End during your trekking excursion at Horton plains.
Baker's Falls is a famous waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is situated in Horton Plains National Park on
a tributary of the Belihul Oya. The height of the Baker's waterfalls is 20 metres (66 ft). The falls
were named after Sir Samuel Baker, who was a famous explorer.

After breakfast proceed to Tissamaharama via Ella . (Approx.: travel time 04 hrs.)
You could do birding around wetlands in Tissamaharama area.

Day 08. : Embilipitiya (Udawalawa)/ Sinharaja
Early morning visit Udawalawa national park with a packeted breakfast by a jeep.
The national park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the
construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect
the catchment of the reservoir. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water
birds and Sri Lankan elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most
visited park in the country.

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is
of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World
Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The hilly virgin rainforest, part of the Sri Lanka lowland rain forests ecoregion, was
saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility, and was designated a
World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a World Heritage Site in 1988. The reserve's name
translates as Lion Kingdom.

Day 10 :Sinharaja/ Mirissa
After breakfast proceed to Mirissa. (Approx. Travel time – 3 ½ hours)
Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Matara District of
the Southern Province. It is approximately 240 kilometres (150 mi) south of Colombo
and is situated at an elevation of 4 metres (13 ft) above the sea level. Mirissa's beach
and night life make it a popular tourist destination. It is also a fishing port and one of
the island's main whale and dolphin watching locations.

Day 11 :Mirissa.
In the morning visit to Mirissa harbor for the Whale watching excursion.
The ever smiling, mischievous dolphins will put on a show while some of the oldest and
the largest sea creatures, the humpback and the blue whales, will nonchalantly glide
past you, when you embark on a whale/ dolphin watching excursion off the Southern
coast of Sri Lanka. The ideal locations for whale watching would be Dondra Point
(Mirissa) and Trincomalee while the sea off Kalpitiya teems with an abundance of
dolphins.
