Did you know that bees and butterflies aren’t the only pollinators? There are actually 200,000 pollinators worldwide! Join the Clermont County Park District and the Little Miami Conservancy as we discover different pollinators and their important role in our environment. Play a game and learn the secret life of pollinators and how
they help us every day. Decorate a pot and plant a Native Wildflower to take home!
May 10th: Spring Migration
Ever wonder where the birds go and how they get there? Take a swan dive with Clermont County Park District
and Little Miami Conservancy as we uncover the mysteries of flight and migration patterns. Learn why some
birds stay and some birds go and how they fly so high during our science experiments! Help construct an Eagle’s
nest for the Little Miami Conservancy!
June 14th: Rocking out with Fossils
Did you know that Cincinnati is famous for their fossils? Cincinnati’s fossils are so Prehistoric, the animals that
were found in this area are older than the dinosaurs! Learn the names of our Ordovician Fossils and search for
them in O’Bannon Creek. You will even get to take some home! Join in on a fun game after the fossil hunt in the
creek!
July 12th: Scaly or Slimy?
Snakes are just misunderstood and frogs are often mistaken for reptiles! Meet Clermont County Park District’s
scaly friends up close! Learn what makes a reptile a reptile and what makes an amphibian an amphibian! Play a
game with your friends to discover all the cool facts that make them unique and loveable!
August 9th: Water, Water, everywhere?
Become a junior scientist while investigating our important natural resource - water. Junior scientists will learn
how the water cycle works through an interactive game. Help Clermont County Park naturalists test water quality by using different methods of water quality testing that real-life scientists use!
September 13th: Native Americans on the Ohio
Native Americans play an important role in our nation’s history. Learn how Native Americans lived in the 1700’s
before the Pioneers and Cincinnati was settled. Step back in time and learn how Native Americans worked,
played and lived in the great forests of Southeast Ohio. Program includes interactive games, hike and activities
that focus on the tribes of Southeast Ohio.
October 11th: Above or beneath the snow?
Days are getting shorter, nights are getting longer, and weather is getting cooler. Learn how nature adapts to
these changes, who hibernates and who braves the cold. Identify trees as you take a colorful, guided hike with
your favorite Naturalist, say goodbye to our local wildlife before they scurry off for the winter. Join in on a fun
activity and make a beautiful, fall craft!
