Pedon Description:
A --- 0 to 11 centimeters; black (N 2.5/) moist, sand;
nonfluid; 1 percent shell fragments; electrical
conductivity of 10.3 mmhos/cm by Salinity probe;
moderately alkaline, pH 8.1, pH meter, saturated
paste; color change with peroxide and oxidized
surface 0-1 cm; clear.
CA --- 11 to 27 centimeters; very dark gray (5Y
3/1) moist, sand; nonfluid; neutral, pH 7.2, pH
meter, saturated paste; color change with peroxide;
gradual.
Cg1 --- 27 to 64 centimeters; very dark gray (5Y
3/1) moist, sandy loam; nonfluid; electrical
conductivity of 11.3 mmhos/cm by Salinity probe;
slightly alkaline, pH 7.8, pH meter, saturated paste;
gradual.
Cg2 --- 64 to 76 centimeters; dark gray (5Y 4/1)
moist, loamy sand; nonfluid; electrical conductivity
of 9.4 mmhos/cm by Salinity probe; slightly
alkaline, pH 7.6, pH meter, saturated paste; clear.
Cg3 --- 76 to 109 centimeters; dark gray (5Y 4/1)
moist, sand; nonfluid; 5 percent shell fragments;
electrical conductivity of 7.4 mmhos/cm by Salinity
probe; moderately alkaline, pH 8, pH meter,
saturated paste; oyster shell fragments; abrupt.
2C1 --- 109 to 142 centimeters; gray (5Y 5/1) moist,
silt loam coarse sand; nonfluid; 10 percent mixed
rock fragments; electrical conductivity of 8.9
