Ormond Beach Soccer Club Board Meeting

Attendees: Steve Haas, Harun Karim Thomas, Shannon Self, Ryan Moorhouse, John Phillips,
John Upchurch, Rob Bowling
Absent: Kevin Brownrigg
1. Call to order: Steve Haas called meeting to order at 7:08 pm.
2. Approval of minutes: Rob Bowling made a motion to approve the minutes, Harun Thomas
seconded the motion. Motion was passed unanimously.
3. Treasury report: The club is doing well. There is $29,661 in the capital fund. There was
discussion about using money for lights on field 9 and 10. Final accounting for rec side: rec did
not lose money due to reusing jerseys.
5. 3v3: John Phillips update: 30-40 teams will compete. Kettle Corn has signed as a vender. Due
to the weather John Phillips will decide tomorrow June 6th if the tournament needs to be
postponed.
6. Refund request: Rob Bowling made a motion to refund Weber money. John Upchurch
seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously.
7. Tryout recap: Bill Urban said tryouts went well. Teams will be as follows:
Boys
U11, U11/12, U13, U13/14, U18
Girls
U11/12, U12, U13, U13/14, U16, U17
Coaches will be determined tomorrow at coaches meeting
The academy had about 30 kids come out.
Betsy Stang asked if everyone had been contacted who made the teams. Bill said they have not
yet because they want to be sure there is room.
Bill Urban would like to have a team camp before the season starts. It will be a 5 day camp, the
oldest teams will start with the 5 day camp to get it up and going for next year.
8. Uniforms: Rob has a meeting for pricing on a stock kit. He will bring to the club for everyone
to look at.
9. DOC Contract: Bill Urban looked at the contract and wanted a clarification on the term
insubordination. Rob Bowling will give a clear definition. John Phillips mad a motion to approve
contract with a clarification of the insubordination clause. John Upchurch seconded. Passed
unanimously
10. Pat from the Elks Lodge asked for a date to do the shootout competition. John Upchurch
motioned for the first Saturday in October. Ryan Moorhouse seconded motion. Motion was
passed unanimously.
11. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
