colors! These knit cozies are sized to fit smaller
energy drink cans or regular size cans and bottles.
Great treat for the whole cheering section!

Small Cozy fits 1½” diameter energy drink can.
Large Garter Trimmed & Rolled Edge Cozies fit 2½”-3”
diameter soda bottle or can.
RED HEART® Team Spirit: 1 skein each of 0956 Purple/
Gold A, 0952 Red/Black B, and 0960 Orange/Navy C.
Knitting Needles: 5 mm [US 8].
Yarn needle.
GAUGE: 16 sts = 4”, 20 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain
the gauge.
SMALL COZY
(shown on small energy drink can)
Bottom
With A, cast on 4 sts.
Row 1 (Right side): Knit across.
Row 2: K1, M1, knit across to last st, M1, K1: 6 sts.
Row 3: Knit across.
Rows 4 and 5: Repeat rows 2 and 3: 8 sts.
Row 6: K1, k2tog, knit across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1: 6 sts.
Row 7: Knit across.
Row 8:K1, k2tog twice, k1: 4 sts.
Bind off all sts in knit, leaving a long end for sewing.
Top
With A, cast on 18 sts.
Row 1: Purl across.
Row 2 (Right side): Slip 1, knit across.
Row 3: Slip 1, purl across.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern until piece measures
approximately 5”.
Bind off all sts in pattern, leaving a long end for sewing.
GARTER STITCH TRIMMED LARGE COZY

With B, Cast on 7 sts.
Row 1 (Right side): Knit across.
Row 2: K1, M1, knit across to last st, M1, K1: 9 sts.
Row 3: Knit across.
Rows 4-7: Repeat rows 2 and 3: 11 sts.
Row 8: K1, k2tog, knit across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1: 9 sts.
Row 9: Knit across.
Row 10:K1, k2tog, knit across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1: 7
sts.
Bind off all sts in knit, leaving a long end for sewing.
Top
With B, cast on 34 sts.
Row1 (Right side): Knit across.
Rows 2-5: Knit across.
Row 6: Slip 1, purl across.
Row 7: Slip 1, knit across.

With C, cast on 7 sts.
Rows 1-10: Work same as Bottom of Garter Stitch
Trimmed Large Cozy.
Bind off all sts in knit, leaving a long end for sewing.
Top
With C, cast on 34 sts.
Row 1: Purl across.
Row 2 (Right side): Slip 1, knit across.
Row 3: Slip 1, purl across.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern until piece measures
approximately 5”.
Bind off all sts in pattern, leaving a long end for sewing.
FINISHING
Thread a yarn needle with the long end. Folding Top in
half, with right sides and matching stitches, sewing seam.
Sew Bottom to bottom edge of Top.
