Rule 1.2 Starting Times 1.3 Registration and starting Current Recommended Change All players must have a starting time assigned to them prior to the commencement of play. Any player found to be in violation of such rules and who, as a result thereof shall report a false or inaccurate score may be barred from competition play at the Club and have his or her playing privileges suspended. Honour Board Events Players must be a financial member for the duration of the event and have not received a Club suspension relating to payments of subscriptions or accounts within the 12month period prior to the start of the event. A number of Honour Board events require qualification followed by matches to be completed on a particular day or over a period of time. Players must be a financial member for the duration of the event and have not received a Club suspension for any reason within the 12month period prior to the start of the event. A number of Honour Board and Major events require qualification followed by matches to be completed on a particular day or over a period of time. If a Member indicates they wish to qualify, qualifies and then does not complete their matches on the stipulated day or by the stipulated time, without a reason acceptable to the Match Committee, he or she may be banned from qualifying for other Honour Board events for a period determined by the Match Committee. Any monetary prizes allocated to players in a Club sponsored golf competition must meet the requirements of Rules of Golf for amateur status players. All monetary prizes will be allocated to a Member’s Competition Account which will be maintained by the Golf Department. There will be no expiry date on monies in the Competition Account. Expenditure from a Member’s Competition Account can only be made in the Golf Shop or for special golf related activities as designated by the Board. Any monies in an Equity Member’s Competition Account that is unused at the time of disposing of their share will be forfeited. Members of a family may elect to allow other members of their family to use their Competition Account after notifying the Golf Services Department. Competitors must have a current Golf Australia Handicap. Members who are current PGA professional golfers are eligible to play in Major Events. Players must be a financial member for the duration of the event and have not received a Club suspension within the 12-month period prior to the start of the event. Major Events are listed in the Members’ Handbook. Full details of Conditions of Play are listed on the website. If a player fails to discontinue play immediately, he is disqualified, unless circumstances warrant waiving the penalty as provided in Rule of Golf 33-7. The signal for suspending play due to a dangerous situation will be a prolonged note of the siren. Suspension of play due to a Dangerous Condition will be taken by either; a member of the Tournament Committee if in place for the event or, the Golf Services Department or appointee for general events and social play, as the authorised representative. The decision to remove trees from the golf courses lies entirely with the Club Board. If after consideration of a request the Club Board agrees to remove trees from the golf course the following will apply: The affected residential property owners will be required to reimburse the golf club the full cost to remove the trees and rehabilitate the area. If the Board decides that new plantings are to be made in the area, the affected property owners will be required to reimburse the golf club the full cost of the plants. If no trees are to be planted the affected property owners will be required to make a contribution to the golf course maintenance “beautification budget”, to be used elsewhere on the course. The amount will be agreed with the residents but will be an amount at least equal to the replacement cost of suitable plants. Repeated use may be viewed as a serious breach of etiquette and may result in disqualification at the discretion of the committee.
