Project Mechanical Designer / Drafter Engineering
Position Summary
Take primary responsibility for completion of project drafting (mechanical with some electrical) as
defined in project document deliverable lists; supporting engineering functions from preliminary design
to completion of As-Built packages. This responsibility includes all approved FilterBoxx AFE projects and
support of the Engineering Standards team. Complete all drafting assignments on time and budget.
Support drafting continuous improvement initiatives in development of drafting standards; drawing
formats, drafting specifications, application of ISA symbology and constructs, drawing numbering, etc.

Primary responsibility to complete FilterBoxx Packaged Water Engineering and project execution
drafting with consistent quality, to industry standards and clearly legible.
At project kickoff recognize project budget and schedule and prepare a drafting execution plan
to meet established budgets and schedule.
Participate/lead a cross functional team in developing drafting standards – naming conventions,
application of ISA Symbols and constructs, labeling and dimensioning, tagging convention, etc.
Build the drafting specifications library.
Assist the engineering team in defining the FilterBoxx standards Document Deliverable Register
with the necessary drawing definition.
Complete drafting hour estimates for establishing Custom and Standard Product drafting hours
estimates.
Provide regular project status updates to the Lead Engineer / Engineering Director and Project
Manager for maintenance of project schedule deliverables.
Qualifications
Education
 Post-secondary degree in engineering, technical school certification in drafting and/
or equivalent drafting experience.
Skills
 Eight to ten years of progressive drafting experience with expertise in water and
wastewater equipment. Familiarity with designing water treatment equipment skids
including RO, NF, UF, MF, pressure filter vessels, clarifiers, ion exchange systems, UV
equipment, etc, and systems integration is required.
 Advanced computer skills and experience with major drafting and design software;
experience with AutoCAD plant 3D would be an asset.
 Demonstrated process and mechanical design experience
 Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail
 Senior level experience and knowledge of regulatory codes and applicable design
and drawing standards.
 Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
 Ability to manage and mentor a growing drafting team.
 Senior level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment
Office environment primarily with some travel to regional offices.
Travel Required
Yes, from time to time as required for the project. Must hold a valid driver's license.
