Beavercreek Clay Mine Reclamation
The CEMEX team at Fairborn is committed to restoration
of the land once mining operations are complete through our ongoing reclamation efforts. Working
with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, we established 47 acres as native grasslands that provide
a nesting habitat for birds in the greater Beavercreek Township area. Our Fairborn plant is also a
recognized Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.
CEMEX is also actively involved in science education initiatives including the annual Wright State
University scholarship program and serving as a steward of the Wright Land Lab at Wright Park.
CEMEX is proud to be a Partner of Education with Xenia and Beavercreek schools.
The Fairborn plant is honored to be recognized for our efforts and is the proud recipient of the
following awards:
• 2010 Land Stewardship Award by Cement Americas Magazine and the Portland Cement
Association
• EPA Energy Star Partner of the Year for 2009 and 2010
• 2009 Greene County Achiever Award from the Greene County Board of Commissioners
• 2008 Reclamation Achievement Award from the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals
