Staffing Software To Give You The Power To Succeed Tip of the Week No.: 101 Skill Synonyms This tip will help you out with the tip for next week, parsing from a resume. In SysAdmin, in the Edit List Basic folder, open up your folder for your different Staffing Services. You should see a folder called General. In there are all of the items that can pertain to more than one type of record (Employee, Company, Order etc). Go to the Skill folder. This is where you can add new Skills to add to different records in StaffSuite. It’s also where you can add Synonyms. The definition of Synonym is a word that means the same, or almost the same, as another word in the same language, either in all of its uses or In simple terms, this means that when you are parsing from a resume, people may put different words to mean the same skill. For example, Accounts Payable is your skill in StaffSuite. Some people may use the full term on their own resume, others may put AP or A/P instead. By adding these terms in as Synonyms, this means that they will still be picked up by StaffSuite and captured as a skill on the Employee Profile. Click New (or Edit for an existing skill) to add a new skill. Add the Name of the skill at the top (this is how it will appear in StaffSuite). Then in the Synonym box, add as many ways as you think someone could have this skill on their resume. Follow each skill with a comma, no space.
