I have decided to compare two different stories. My two
stories are
Tangled and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I am going to be
comparing their settings, characters, conflict, theme, andplot.
SETTING
In Tangled the story takes place in a tower, the woods, and
a small shop. It mostly takes place in the tower though. In Snow
White and the Seven Dwarfs it also takes place in the woods. But
it mostly takes place in the dwarf’s little hut.
CHARACTERS
In Tangled the characters are Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, and
Mother Gothel. The main characters are Rapunzel and Flynn
Rider. In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the characters are
Snow White, the 7 dwarfs, the queen, and there is a prince at the
very end. The only similarity with the characters is that Snow
White and Rapunzel are both princesses.
CONFLICT
In Tangled the problem is that Mother Gothel won’t let
Rapunzel out of the tower and the queen is looking for her. In
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the problem is that the queen
keeps trying to poison and kill Snow White. In both stories the
queens are looking for the princesses but for different reasons.
THEME
In Tangled and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs I think
that there isn’t a real lesson or theme but in both stories the evil
always loses and the good always wins. I think both stories are
telling you that it’s always better to be good and get in a little bit
of trouble than be evil and get in a lot of trouble.
PLOT
The plot of Tangled is that a lady named Mother
Gothel is using a magic flower to keep herself young but then it
is taken away for the sick queen who later gives birth to a child
with magical healing powers in her hair because the queen
drank liquid from the flower. Mother Gothel kidnaps Rapunzel
and keeps her locked in a tower for many years even though it is
Rapunzel’s dream to go outside. Rapunzel sends Mother Gothel
away to get paints for her birthday. While Mother Gothel is gone
she sneaks out and meets Flynn Rider. They eventually figured
out that Rapunzel was kidnapped. Flynn and Rapunzel go back
to the tower, and Mother Gothel hurts Flynn. Rapunzel uses her
healing power to heal him. To save Rapunzel, Flynn cuts off her
hair and they get married. In Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs there is a queen and a stepdaughter. The queen has a
magic mirror and every morning she asks it who the fairest lady
of all and every time it tells her that she is except for one. One
day the magic mirror tells her that Snow White, her
stepdaughter, is the fairest of them all. The queen is furious so
she sends a huntsman to kill her. When the huntsman sees
Snow White he knows he cannot kill her so he tells her to go hide
in the woods. The huntsman brings the queen a deer’s heart
instead of Snow White’s. Snow White soon finds the dwarf’s little
hut. The dwarf’s agree to let her stay as long as she does the
housework. Soon the magic mirror tells the queen that Snow
White is still alive. The queen goes in search of Snow White and
when she finds her she disguises herself and try’s to poison her.
Fortunately, the dwarf’s come home in time to save her. The
queen try’s a few more times but does not succeed. She tries one
more time and it works. The dwarf’s assume she is dead and put
her in a glass coffin. A prince comes along and takes the glass
coffin. Then he kisses Snow White and she is woken up. They get
married and live happily ever after.
Those are all the similarities and differences of Tangled
and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
