Kristallnacht, also referred to as the
Night of Broken Glass, was a
series of coordinated attacks against
Jews throughout Nazi Germany and
parts of Austria on November 9th an
10th, 1938. These attacks were
carried out by SA paramilitary forces
and non-Jewish civilians while
German authorities looked on without intervening. The name Kristallnacht
comes from the shards of broken glass that littered the streets after Jewishowned stores, buildings, and synagogues had their windows smashed.
As a special gift for those attending one of the
speaking events, Martha Wittstruck, Fine Arts
Instructor, has created a limited edition fused
glass pendant. Each one is a unique work of art
and only available to the first 600 people
attending one of the speaking events.
