Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is the oldest black Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans. Founded in 1906 at Cornell University
in Ithaca, NY, the fraternity continues to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for
communities across the Nation and Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia. Iota Delta Lambda (IDL) Chapter was founded on May 1, 1968 in Chicago, IL and
continues to focus on service to the community as well as youth development, with a strong belief that the youth are the future, thus providing programming
and scholarships to youth in under-served communities. IDL also actively participates in the Fraternity’s National Programs: Project Alpha, A Voteless People
is a Hopeless People, and Go To High School, Go To College. IDL is the founder of the award-winning Project Alpha, a collaborative effort with the March of
Dimes designed to provide education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted
diseases for young males.
