Memorial Day
can easily be returned. Please also remember to check your child’s mail pockets as this is the best way our teachers can
communicate with you all if they miss you during drop off or pick up. Also take a look at our Lesson Plans that are posted both in
the classroom and outside the office so you can keep up with what your little ones will be learning. Monday-Thursday please
remember not to bring any small items or toys, save all the goodies for Friday Share Day- but of course books are always welcome
any day to share! We will be closed on Monday, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day.
CLASSROOM NEWS
Two’s- For the month of May, our two year old friends will be having some Fiesta Fun! They will be creating masterpieces with
glue and glitter (as always), and painting with their little hands! During our World of Music week, they will learn about different
sounds that instruments make, and practice them during Circle time. It is sure to be a noisy good time! During Under the Sea week,
we will be discussing and reading about which animals live in the sea, and create some swimming creatures during Art time! Many
books will be read in the classroom around fishing, swimming, (Slippery Fish) and water. As a reminder for those friends who have
breakfast in the classroom in the morning, this time frame goes until 8:00 am. Once we go outside, to ensure the safety of the
children, we do not have food on the yard. Thank you from the teachers in K3, K4 & K5!
Threes - This month we will be learning about all those cool things that live in the sea! Different fish, creatures, and plants! We
will read ‘Clifford goes Fishing’ ‘Izzy the Ice Cream Fairy’ and ‘Oh the Places You’ll Go’! Art projects will go along with the sea
theme, as well as creating art pieces around things that you will find in a forest. Parents remember to please take home the past art
masterpieces, found in the art file box in the classrooms by the door- they fill up each week! Songs we will sing are Five Little
Ducks, and Five Little Speckeled Frogs. The children will make a little special something for those hard working moms and
grandmothers for Mother’s day…stay tuned! It will be great!
Pre K - We will celebrate Cinco de Mayo during our Fiesta Time week with stories, songs, and a special snack. We will discuss
what the holiday means and how people celebrate it. We will be celebrating Mother’s Day in a special way this month to say thank
you and show our love to all the mothers and grandmothers on Friday May 12th. More information to come, keep a lookout on the
classroom door. When we go Camping, we will talk about the types of things you need for a camping trip, and share stories of
those friends who have gone camping! We will make a forest collage and even paint to music throughout the month. As the end of
the year and our Promotion Celebration approaches, we are continuing to practice to get ready for our big day. Information will be
posted on the classroom doors as the exciting day gets closer. The friends are getting so excited! Thank you so much.

Review ABCs / 123s
Junior Kindergarten –May will be our last full month of the academic year…WOW! The school year has gone by so quickly. We
will learn about what lives in the ocean, the life cycle of animals, different forms of water, and different sports we can do! We will
continue learning high frequency words, recognizing and naming numbers out of order between 0 and 50. We’re looking forward to
our last field trip on the 18th to an amazing place…Happy Hollow! We hope many parents can join us on this last trip. The kids
always have such a goof time! Remember that Monday, May 29th Action day will be closed in observance of Memorial Day, and
looking forward to June; The Jr K Promotion will be on Wednesday June 14th with Friday June 16th as the last day of school!

Kindergarten – We cannot believe that we are down to our last full month of Kindergarten! We are finishing up our reading
adventures with the Superkids Club and rounding out our Math program with time, money, and measuring. Our Cooking project this
month will be making quesadillas on the 5th for Cinco de Mayo! Fun Friday will be crazy hat AND hair day, and it will be on the
12th of May. Our field trip this month will be on the 18th to a great and always fun place…Happy Hollow. It will be from 9-2, signups for chaperones will be on the classroom door. Join us if you can!

The Moon
School Age, B/A School – We will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo in our classes by learning about the culture, and having a
fabulous Fiesta complete with homemade nachos. Not only do we celebrate Cinco de Mayo this month, but we also celebrate our
mothers by making a special gift for those hard working mothers in honor of Mother’s Day. We will be creating “Huichol” artwork
using a variety of seeds. For Desert week, we will make sand snake art and a desert sunset in class. We will also show the phases
of the moon, with a cool painting activity. Busy times for our last full month of school! We are ready for summer! Just a reminder
that Action Day will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday May 29th. Enjoy the holiday!
