Student assistance is available for a variety of activities and food programs. My child has a medical appointment during school hours. How do I let the school know? Please call the school and press 1 for the Attendance Office. Voicemail is also available 24/7. We now offer an attendance email; [email protected] How do I confirm my child’s attendance after I receive an automated attendance call? Please use one of the communication options listed above. How do we inform the school we are taking our child out of school for a short period of time? For each absent day, please call the Attendance Office. For an extended period of time, over 5 days, your child needs to pick up a ’Temporary Student Withdrawal’ form from the Attendance Office and have his/her teachers fill it out and submit the form to the Attendance Office as soon as possible. How do I contact a teacher to discuss my child’s progress? Teachers may be contacted by voice mail or email. Please call the school for this information. What is the dress code policy? See the Code of Conduct on the school’s website. How do I know who my child’s Guidance Counsellor is? Counsellors are assigned by surname alphabetically. Please see our website or contact our Guidance Office. When would speaking with my child’s Guidance Counsellor or Vice-Principal be appropriate? Any event or situation that impacts upon your child’s behaviour, security, attendance, or performance at school is reason enough. Our family is planning to move but our children will still be attending W.O. What do I need to do to inform the school of our new address? Please contact the Main Office and your call will be directed to that appropriate person. How do I join the school council? Please see the website for meeting dates. Where is it best to drop off my child in the morning/pick up my child after school/extracurricular activities? Please use the student parking lot at the rear of the building, due to the limited access at the front of the school, The Region of Waterloo Bylaw Enforcement Officer will ticket vehicles dropping off or picking up students at the front of the school. Where may I park at the school? Please use the student parking lot, unnumbered spots, at the rear of the building, as there is limited visitor parking at the front of the school. My child lost a textbook. What do we need to do to get another one? The cost of the text must be paid and another text will be issued. If hardship exists, please contact your child’s Vice-Principal.
