Workplace stats from STANDING TALL
§ Corporate Landscape is insufficiently addressing meaningful employment for people with disabilities
§ <1% of people employed in corporate South Africa are people with disabilities, while the total population of people
with disabilities is at 7,5%
§ Approx. 300-500k people with disabilities in Cape Town
§ Therefore, the number of people with disabilities employed in SA should be more representative.
Inequality in regard to end-to-end access to employment and mechanisms which enable such
e.g. transport, communication, social and industry structures, facilities, location, etc. especially in
and for low income, disadvantaged and underserved communities
§ Employment models for people with disabilities are seldom self-sustaining as a competitive commercial enterprise
with high social impact
