Chadstone sets the benchmark with expanded dining and entertainment offer
Chadstone The Fashion Capital has continued its evolution with the unveiling of the centre’s expanded retail, dining
and entertainment offer, further reinforcing its position as Australia’s number one shopping destination.
The highly-anticipated reveal of Chadstone’s first and most significant phase of its $660 million development on
Thursday 13 October will see doors open this week to the new Dining Terrace and Food Central, a 1,300-seat, 20-plus
tenancy food gallery, a new state-of-the-art HOYTS cinema complex and additional specialty stores, all spanned by
the centre’s Australian-first glass gridshell roof.
The new Dining Terrace takes inspiration from around the world and will feature seven new restaurants with wide
appeal, some of which are new to market and others which are opening in a shopping centre or outside of Melbourne’s
CBD for the very first time. Open seven days a week throughout the day and evening, the Dining Terrace will offer a
diverse range of food and beverage options across breakfast, lunch and dinner.
From mid-October onwards, the Dining Terrace will be home to Burger Project by Neil Perry, Fonda, the awardwinning Woodstock Pizzicheria and Mama’s Buoi – all of which will offer indoor and outdoor experiences with views of
Melbourne’s city skyline – together with New Shanghai, Mezz Bistro and Bar and Marae Izakaya which will look right
across the retail precinct and free spanning gridshell roof.
Food Central will welcome a number of new offerings to Chadstone including Dainty Sichuan, Kyo Tea House, Royal
Stacks, Sauced Pasta Bar (first in any shopping centre), Soul Origin, Supercharger, THR1VE and 7 Apples Gelato.
Chadstone will also welcome luxury French patisserie Ladurée to Melbourne in late October, with its tearoom to be
perched in a unique ‘pod’ structure twelve metres high and boasting the best vantage point of the glass gridshell roof.
The new HOYTS cinema complex will include the HOYTS LUX premium experience and spans two levels underneath
the glass gridshell roof at Chadstone. It will feature Xtremescreens with DOLBY ATMOS surround sound, exclusive
powered recliners in each auditorium, and the new ‘Eat Street’ area which will include Chur Burger, Ben & Jerry’s and
Arties Bar & Café.

Australia’s first and only LEGOLAND Discovery Centre will open at Chadstone by mid-2017, delivering a unique
experience to customers and a further point of difference to the centre.
Mr Angus McNaughton, CEO and Managing Director of Vicinity Centres, said: “The best shopping centres around the
world recognise that the dining and entertainment experiences are just as important as the retail offer for customers.
“Our vision at Chadstone was to create an iconic experience that reflects Melbourne’s reputation as Australia’s dining
and entertainment capital.
“Chadstone’s new and unique expanded retail, dining and entertainment offer reflects what today’s customers want
and need in a premium experience, from the moment they walk through our doors.”
Chadstone is co-owned by Vicinity Centres and Gandel Group.
