Hancock Farm - the Hancock Dairy Farm

History
Why Our Products
H
ancock farm was purchased by Rickey
and Sandy Evangelista in 1985 soon
after their daughter Beth was born.
Spring, summer, fall, and winter our cows
are on pasture with the option to go in the
barn as they wish.
All of our milk is vat pasteurized for a better
flavor.
We milk mainly Ayrshire cows. Their milk
protein (casein) is more digestible than that
of any other cows; allowing you to take in
more nutrients.
The Ayrshire cow was developed to make
cheese. The fat molecules are smaller
than those found in milk produced by other
breeds. This combined with the casein
properties make for a greater cheese yield
and a higher quality product; with a richer
and creamier taste.
Our products (with the exception of the
orange and apple juices) are native to
Barre MA. When purchasing our product
you are supporting agriculture in the area.
After purchasing the farm they began to
milk cows and sell the raw milk to a larger
company. After a chain of misfortunate
events it was clear that the farm was not going
to make it much longer. At this point Beth had
begun her sophomore year in High school
and needed a Supervised Agricultural
Experience for her FFA project. That is when
the family started to sell the raw milk to small
dairy businesses near Boston MA, and then
expanded it into a home delivery business of
vat pasteurized dairy products.

10 customers. Currently Hancock Farm
averages about 100 delivery customers a

central MA.
Our mission is clear:
To have a sustainable
family business that provides a
quality product with no harsh
chemicals, additives, and/or
artificial growth hormones,
while providing a quality life
style for our cows.
