©2015 Methodist Hill Quilt Studio www.methodisthillquiltstudio.com Joyce Lundrigan – [email protected] How-To Create a P2P Triangle using a Modular Design (MD) P2P Triangle Base and an MD Topper in CS 6 Set Grid at 6”. Draw a triangle Boundary. Select a MD (Modular Design) P2P Triangle Base design and place on CAD using P2P – Grid Snap On. Select an MD Topper design and place on CAD using Repeat Patterns. (In this example I have used the MD Feather Pearl Topper.) Select the topper using the Edge Pattern Anchor (F9) and move it down so the bottom of the topper nests nice and close to the tip of the base design. Now select the base design, right click and select Nodes (or click on Nodes Icon or press F7 ) NOTE: In Creative Studio 6, it is only necessary to divide once at the top center point of the base. Next – Zoom in close to the center of the base triangle. There is one pink divide node you need to click on at the center of the base triangle. Next – Hover over that pink node and press “D” on your keyboard. Then select the center pink node and with End Snap selected - snap to the right side of the Topper. Then select the right side of the base triangle and snap to the left side of the Topper. Next we need to set the sew order to make it sew continuous from left to right as a P2P pattern. Select the left side of the MD Triangle Base and then click on the Order Join icon . Now select the complete pattern and export the pattern to a CSQ. Remember – you will only ever have to do this once for each P2P Triangle Base design and Topper triangle combinations you want to create. You might consider setting up a folder on your computer to store your Modular Designs… and if you have PVM – don’t forget to import these new designs. With these modular designs you can create so many different combinations of designs. Don’t stop with just triangles – Create blocks from the triangles – create frames from the base triangles. Use the Creative Studio Draw features to make the Toppers P2P designs as companion designs. Enjoy!
