What is compromise? It’s the act of giving in just enough to keep peace or to avoid persecution. Sometimes we make compromises with friends or family and that can be a good thing.
But we must NEVER compromise on doctrine or holiness just to keep the peace or to avoid
persecution. Did you know that by not compromising, you could sometimes feel all alone,
even in a crowd? There were a few men in the Bible who stood alone in a crowd. Noah was
one. His whole family was saved because he refused to compromise on the revelation that
God had given him. How can we avoid compromise? By having a made up mind. Nothing
can get a person off track once their mind is fully made up. God’s word is forever settled, may we be forever settled by it, in
Jesus name!
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrews 10:23
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:8
And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him. Genesis 7:5

We are still on our journey studying the book of Proverbs. We
ended this month in Proverbs Chapter 10. The repeated theme that
we consistently read is that a Christian should have fear of the Lord
while desiring wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God’s
ways. In return the Lord will bless you , give you favor, good health
and multiply your days upon the earth. We also learned that being a
scoffer and disobedient to God’s Word will bring much heartache,
judgment, death and troubles. The children are really listening and
absorbing all that is being taught. They are truly becoming Proverbs
Children, oh how blessed in life they will be. Proverbs 2:1-5, My
son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments
with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply
thine heart to understanding; Yea if thou criest after knowledge,
and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou sleekest her as
silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou
understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

We began the month reading “The Impatient Bear”, learning
that we must pray and trust in the Lord. We then learned the
importance of friends and thanked God for our friendships,
Eccl. 4:10. Moving forward we learned the importance of obedience and how Jesus commanded the winds and the waves and
even they obeyed. We ended the month reading Mt. 14, Mark 6
and Luke 9. These scriptures taught us about the big picnic
where Jesus took two fish and five loaves and fed 5,000.

We started the month continuing on our study in
Exodus and learning the 10 commandments. We
ended the commandments lesson with the children
taking turns standing in front of the class reciting the
ten commandments. The children were excited and
delighted to show what they had learned. We ended
the month moving forward on our journey in Exodus
to the study of the tabernacle. We learned that God
wanted to dwell among his people. We are learning
about the tabernacle, its construction and the essential pieces and their meanings.

The Monthly
Challenge is part
of a new series
that is designed
to challenge you
in expanding your
growth in the
body of Christ a
s well as your
growth in Jesus.
The bible tells us in James
1:22, But be ye doers of the
word, and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves.
This month’s challenge
comes from James 1:27,
Pure religion and undefiled
before God and the Father
is this, To visit the fatherless
and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world. The challenge is going to be a two
part series. For the month of
October the focus will be on
the widows and next months
focus will be on the father-
less. October’s Challenge is
to visit a widow and help her
with a need, to bring comfort
to her in her afflictions. You
can accomplish this task in
many ways. You are wanting
to be genuine in motive,
desiring only to comfort or
assist her in a way that will
make them feel the love of
Christ, take her mind off her
pain even if it’s only for a
moment and to ease her
burdens. (Focus is not on you
– it’s God working through
you to lift her up in her time
of need.) Some suggestions
for the widows are to visit
awhile with the widow, find
out what she is lacking or
need assistance with. If you
don’t know her well enough
to know her possible needs,
ask her to give you some
things you may do for her to
help out. Some examples are
mowing the lawn, washing
her vehicle, cleaning the
house, and doing an activity
together with her. If you
don’t know any widows, you
can possibly volunteer your
time or visit with those in a
nursing home.

“I will be glad and rejoice in
thee: I will sing praise to thy
name, O thou most High”
(Psalms 9:2). God loves the
praises of his people! Singing to God is found throughout the bible over 100 times.
To increase our singing to
Jesus, I’m now offering
CD’s containing some of
our service praise songs. If
you are interested please see
me after any service and
bring me a blank CD. In
addition, lyrics to many of
our praise songs will be
published in the Epistle.

Psalm 22:3
But thou art holy,
O thou
that Inhabitest
the praises of
Isreal.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and
pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear
from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will hear their land” (2 Chronicles
7:14).
Please come join us on the first Saturday of each month as we pray and
worship Jesus as a unified body of Christ. Intercessory prayer is essential for our
church and city because it gives God glory showing us our dependency on God. This time of prayer is also
beneficial for our church and our city because it strengthens us, encourages us, and brings God’s power to
change the atmosphere around us.
PASTOR LANE CREECH
Greetings In Jesus Name,
WE ARE CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT. We will know the times and
the season before Jesus comes back. He will come as a thief in the
night ONLY to the children of DARKNESS. So many love to quote
the beginning of this scripture (No man knows the day nor the hour,
he comes as a thief in the night) but never continue with the rest of
the passage. May the light of truth come in and revelation go forth.
Stay True to the Truth!
Pastor Lane
1 Thessalonians 5:1-8, But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that
I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a
thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction
cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But
ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all
the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they
that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let
us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an
helmet, the hope of salvation.
