Therefore, as a community service we offer a 50% discount on one course per session. This offer cannot be applied to state apprentice, license programs, and electrical/plumbing continuing education coursework. This applies to tuition only and does NOT include materials and books, and cannot be used with any other promotion. There are no refunds made after the third class. Refund payments require a 60 to 90 business days processing period, if paying by cash or check. NOTE: A $10 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds.If your check is returned for insufficient funds a $20.00 fee will be added. Class Cancellations and Snow Policy On the day school is cancelled due to snow conditions, evening classes are also cancelled. In the event day classes are not cancelled and the weather worsens, a decision will be made by 4 p.m. and relayed to the following television stations: WBZ TV 4, WCVB TV 5, WHDH TV 7 and FOX 25. There have been a number of changes that could affect recorded apprentice hours, tuition, and enrollment. Anyone violating school discipline will be removed from Northeast with no refund. www.neadulted.com Attendance and Tardiness A 100% attendance rule applies to academics, apprenticeship training and all licensing courses. The apprenticeship program and/ or licensing courses must fulfill required hours/passing grade in order to complete the course. Academic students late for class three times or more may be subject to grade reduction. Drug Policy and Tobacco Policy Possession and/or use of drugs is illegal. Any students found violation of this law will automatically be expelled with no credit earned, no refund, and could face possible criminal charges. Under state law, there is no smoking or any use of tobacco products on school grounds. Any student in violation of this law could face possible expulsion with no credit earned and no refund. Grading Academic students must follow the course syllabus to obtain credit. Stu-dents making up a grade for their high school must also meet the require-ment of the school accepting the grade. Passing grades for apprentice-ship course will be determined by the State Apprenticeship Board. Manicuring, Phlebotomy, and EKG require a passing grade of 70 and the passing of the State Exam to be licensed. All students successfully passing courses will be given a certificate/ grade. All grades are kept on file and an academic certificate will be sent on request. Parking Students must park in designated areas only. Parking outside of a designated area may result in towing at the owner’s expense. 5 GENERAL INFORMATION Books and Supplies Students are responsible for paying for their own books, materials and supplies unless these costs are included in the course fee. Plumbing $100 These courses are approved by the Board of Plumbers and Gasfitters to fulfill the 6–hour per year of continuing education requirement for plumbing license renewal for Licensed Journeymen, Master Plumbers, and Gasfitters. Session 9 Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Dates: TBA On-Line in 2017 Biology with Lab $275 Starts Monday, January 23, 2017 Monday, 6–9 p.m. – 11 weeks This pre–college course will cover topics including cell structure and function and the general characteristics of the plant and animal kingdoms, with emphasis on human physiology and genetics. Chemistry (Pre–Nursing) with Lab $275 Thursday, 6–9 p.m. – 11 weeks Chemistry studies matter, what it is made of, and how it can be changed. Students will investigate topics such as elements, mixtures and compounds. The periodic table will be explained so that the students can use it as a scientist would. Chemical reactions will be explored, as will the proper way of making solutions and measuring their strength. Laboratory investigations also will be conducted. Phlebotomy Training $275 Monday, Wednesday, OR Thursday 6–9 p.m. – 10 weeks Note: Monday's class starts January 23 This course provides practical training and the necessary skills on how to draw blood. The individual will be-come familiar with all the equipment used and develop a comfort level for drawing blood. This is a hands–on course and includes bookwork and testing. Attendance is extremely important, only one absence is allowed. More than one absence will result in automatic failure. Students must pass the written exam and show the draw in order to receive their certificate of completion. This course is for the beginner which requires no previous specialized background. Class night selection can not be changed. A High School diploma or GED is required. Limit 15 students per class. EKG Training $275 Thursday, 6–9 p.m. – 10 weeks This EKG (Electrocardiograph) course provides the student with proper usage and terminology of an EKG machine including basic heart anatomy, physiology, correct electrodes placement, printout analysis, vital signs, and safety. This hands–on course includes bookwork, testing, and performing electrocardiograms on fellow students. Students must pass the written exam and show the proper usage of the EKG machine in order to receive their certificate of completion. A High School diploma or GED is required. Limit 12 students. TRADE PREPARATION 40-Hour Real Estate Pre-license Course $385 Starts Monday, January 23, 2017 Monday & Wednesday, 6–9 p.m. - 5 weeks Massachusetts requires all individuals who wish to obtain a Real Estate Salesperson License to complete a 40hour pre-license class prior to applying for the Real Estate examination. The class content is state mandated, and is taught by a State certified instructor. Individuals must attend all 40-hour classes to receive their certification of completion to take the test. Harley Maintenance & Performance Modification $520 Instructor: Peter Chambers Tuesday, 6-9 p.m. – 10 weeks This course is designed to introduce students to the basic Harley-Davidson motorcycle maintenance and performance modifications. The curriculum will include oil changes, tune-ups, troubleshooting, wheel and belt replacement, routine maintenance, cam selection and installation, cylinder head, piston, ignition and modifications. Classes are taught by Peter Chambers, with 35 years of multi-brand motorcycle experience, a graduate of Harley-Davidson University with a PHD/Master of Service Technician status. 17 TRADE PREPARATION OSHA Construction Safety & Health Course $100 Monday & Wednesday, 6-8:45 p.m. February 6, 8, 13, & 15, 2017 The OSHA 10–Hour Construction Safety & Health Course is intended to provide entry level personnel general awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards in the construction industry. Instruction focus: hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.
