WHAT A BUSY WEEK!
What a great week! We
completed a reading unit
and reviewed money,
time, and calendar.
They worked hard, and I
was proud of their
determination!
AGENDAS
As a grade level, we
requested agendas for
each student, and our
request was granted. So
I will communicate in
their agenda notes if
needed, and you can
communicate back.
This will be a great tool
to help with handwriting.
Students will be
responsible for writing
down their assignments
and any important dates.
They will also be to write
in their special area.
They are excited to have
agendas...typically 3rd6th are the only grades
who use them, so they
feel “big”.
If you have not sent in a
binder, I will send one
home Monday so they
will be able to use their
agenda.

September 2, 2013 - NO SCHOOL Labor Day
Holiday
September 4, 2013 - Half day for students, dismissal
at 11:00am.
September 5, 2013 - Fall Picture Day.
September 20, 2013 - Box Top collection.
**REMEMBER: FREE BREAKFAST IS
SERVED DAILY IN THE CLASSROOM. THIS
PROCESS IS GOING REALLY WELL.

Reading - Exploring Space with an Astronaut, an
expository text.

Phonics - Long vowels (VCe pattern).

Grammar - The subject of a sentence.

Spelling - Long vowels (VCe pattern).

Comprehension - Main idea and details.
Math - Unit 1.3 - 1.6 (Telling time, grouping by
10’s and 100’s, and place value).
Science - Sun and Moon studies.
