Explain them that a simile is the comparison between two unrelated nouns using “like” or “as”. 2. Give your students examples of similes. Explain to them what each simile means. The chair is as strong as Superman. She can swim like a fish. Her hair was as soft as a spider web. The children ran like ripples through water. 3. Ask your students to give you examples of similes. Then, ask your students to write at least 5 similes about spring. 4. Have your students write a short story about spring using the simile that they came up with. Ask them to create a Voki to tell their story. 5. Play their Voki in class and have students identify the simile used in the story.
