Rails to Trails
Bellefontaine is now connected to Urbana through a recently opened 18
mile bike trail expansion. The Simon Kenton Path connects with
other paths in Southwest Ohio, allowing bicyclists to travel from
Cincinnati to Bellefontaine.

or gatherings. Hoffman Municipal Pool is located at Mary Rutan Park and offers
a great place to cool off on those hot days. Three playground areas can also be
found here, as well as Tennis and Basketball courts and a Disc Golf Course.

5,800 acre Indian Lake offers a variety of water-related recreational opportunities.
Boating, fishing, skiing, and camping are highlights of this 800-acre multi-use
park. Eight shaded picnic areas equipped with tables and grills are located
around the park. Cherokee Trail, a 3-mile easy walk through
brushy
habitat, is located west of the campground. Pew Island
Trail, a 1 mile path, encircles Pew Island, which can
be accessed
from a causeway and offers spectacular views.
A 3-mile paved bikeway is located on the West Bank
between Old Field Beach and Lakeview
Harbor also allows walkers and joggers.

You will begin your day with a trip through golf history as you play a vintage nine
holes created in 1920, known then as the Bellefontaine Country Club. These
holes demand pinpoint approaches to small, slick greens, placed among giant
oaks on gently rolling hills with a creek which provide a sporting challenge. The
back nine holes steps you forward seventy years, created in 1992 by designer
Barry Serafin, which offer the “modern” approach. The bent grass fairways and
undulating greens are nestled among lakes and trees with just the right sand and
