ENGLISH COORDINATION AMERICAN LITERATURE RULES FOR THE 2014-2015 COURSE 5TH grade Miss Grace Martínez Celis G. 1. Students must act all times as stipulated in school rules and during class time as stipulated in this present set of rules. 2. Students need at least 80% of attendance to have a right to the test. 3. The classroom must be completely clean before the class begins and after it ends. 4. Drinking water is permitted during class time; students do not need to ask for permission to do it. 5. Students are responsible of knowing all the information given inside the classroom, even if they are not present at the moment; this includes homework and exam dates. 6. To participate in the classroom, students will raise their hand, wait for the teacher to point them, and speak loudly, clearly and respectfully. HOMEWORK AND CLASSWORK 1. Homework will be due on a specific date and time, and it will not be received neither earlier not later, except when an official justification is provided. 2. Missing homework will be averaged with a grade equal to zero (0). 3. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden and it will be punished with a zero in the final grade and will be informed to the school's director. 4. There will be 6 monthly marking periods. Students must have a passing grade in the exam to consider their 20% of homework, their 10% of participation and 10% of classwork; otherwise, their failing exams grade will be their monthly grade. 5. In order to be able to exempt the final exam, students must keep an 8.6 average, a minimum grade of 8 in all marking periods and no more than one 7 in conduct.
