Friends of Beako Give Back
Second Grade Poems
During Literature lessons, the 2nd grade students decided what type of poem to write and brainstormed
ideas as a small group. The four poems written include acrostic poems (poems where the first letter in
each line spell out a word), a rhyming poem and an “I WISH” poem.
EMPATHY
Everyone should try to make the world a better place.
Most people have money-they should share it with those in need.
People should care about the sick, hungry and homeless.
Animals think of us as their family-they need our love and care.
Think about how others feel-put yourself in their shoes.
Helping others makes you feel happy and proud.
You can help and make a difference-start today!

GIVING
Giving love and respect makes the world a better place.
Incredible acts of kindness can be done by people everywhere.
Visiting shelters and hospitals- helping where it’s needed
Inspires young and old to make the world full of love.
Never say no when given a chance to help.
Growing up a giver will make Beako happy and proud.

When you are nice
That’s the right thing to do
Then good things
Will come back to you.
Be loving and respectful,
be kind, too
People will be happy –

Imagine the joy
When you give an education
That is something special
You broaden someone’s imagination!
If you can give a present
Then you will feel so proud
Be generous and unselfish
Then you’ll stand out in a crowd!
We should all be giving
We should all be kind
Always help those in need
Don’t leave them behind.

I wish…
I wish everyone had a home.
I wish people cared more about animals.
I wish that people wouldn’t waste food and help hungry people.
I wish that animals would always be protected and loved.
I wish that homeless people could find jobs so they don’t have to worry.
I wish that everyone had enough money for their sick children to get care at The Children’s Inn.
I wish that all homeless animals could find someone to care for them and love them.
I wish people with extra money would give it to charities.
I wish everyone would join together to make this world a better place.
