our golf season to begin in April, as
a board member, my worries immediately move to revenue…how will
this lingering white beauty affect our

She has been promoted to a
full-time employee. Congratulations
Katy! With a new Point-Of-Sale
system that will allow for numerous
ways to market online; Katy and
Darin will be very busy promoting
our Village. I expect Darin will give
a great presentation on the new
program and what that means to us
in an upcoming meeting.
The Board has been working very
closely with the restaurant committee, Darin and Kevin to select a
candidate to lease the restaurant.
We had well-qualified applicants
and the decision was not an easy
one. These folks put in a lot of
hours sharing their expertise in
participating in the interviews, the
selection and the lease preparation.
I cannot thank them enough for
their commitment to this endeavor!
At this writing, we have offered a
lease, and will announce as soon
as we have legal review and all
parties have signed, hopefully
before you read this. It was recommended by every applicant, the
committee and staff that the bar be
relocated to a more central area
(which will allow for member activities/functions in the “old” bar).
Kevin is spearheading the project to
be completed by the opening of the
golf season.
I would like to briefly reference my
last month’s letter. I thank each and
every one of you for taking the time
to reply by email and telephone.

you individually as you took the time in your
busy schedules to reply to my request.
As part of the investigation, the long debated
issue of moving the Bar became a significant
focal point. The present layout creates many
problems in providing good reliable service.

We would like to thank all who helped
make my brother, Dale's last days be
memorable... The kindness shown by
many people at Twin Lakes will not be
forgotten.
Thank you,
Les and Barb Wilson
My brother, Rob, and I would like to express our gratitude to all
the kind, generous friends that made themselves available to
help our Dad, Dale Wilson, in his final days at Twin Lakes Village.
Your thoughtfulness warmed our hearts, lifted our spirits and
made the days easier. For those who cleared snow (both friends
and employees), prepared food, decorated inside and out for
Christmas, caroled, visited, placed the newspapers at the front
door, blessed a St Joseph statue, helped print and fax oodles
of papers and came to the memorial gathering, we can’t thank
you enough. Thank you also for sharing your stories about and
love for Dad. He thought so much of all of you too, and loved
being a part of your community.
Best wishes to all of you!
Kathi and Rob Wilson
It might be hard to believe today that the little town tucked
away at the foot of the mountains on the east side of the
Rathdrum Prairie was once the seat of Kootenai County and, in
1884, with 2,000 residents, was larger than either Spokane or
Coeur d’’Alene. (Spokesman-Review article)

this village has expressed.

Dear Friends,
Some of you are aware that Lee had a small stroke and is
in rehab. He is recovering well. It seems timely for us to be
nearer to family now and have plans to move into a Retirement Center in La Connor, Washington.
Needless to say, it will be hard to leave TLV. It ‘s been
home for over 20 years!
Your comraderies have been a joy. Your care and support
have been a true blessing. We are sincerely grateful
to all! We will be in touch.
Love,
Lee & Clare Stoneman

CONGRATULATIONS
Carol Strausburg for being inducted
into Fountain Valley High School’s
Hall of Fame!! We are proud of you!!!
Since I was a child (1970's) I
have walked into the FVHS gym and saw
the boys basketball Hall of fame board
with nothing about the girls program.
Thus I am OVERJOYED to invite all of
you to the celebration of the first inductee into the inaugural girls basketball
Hall of fame.
Carol started coaching in 1977, she has
385 wins and 21 CIF playoff appearances. She is truly a Baron 4 Life!
Congratulations to our former staff
member.

Ms. Marianne Karp
FVHS Mathematics Instructor
of the BCC Ladies 18 from 2015-2016 characterizes Patty as an enthusiastic, dynamite “go-getter” who’s impressed the whole
ladies group by making golf fun for all
women. She’s able to make people listen
when she talks about how important it is to
fill out GEM surveys, or the many reasons
you might want to participate in a tournament halfway across the city. If she needs
to, she’ll even bring in props and put on a
skit to try and get her message across! For
her part, Patty credits Janice for supporting her ideas to engage the ladies in creative ways, and is also gratified that every
time she asks for volunteers to do something, the ladies at BCC step up to the plate,
often involving their husbands, as well.
Please join me in CONGRATULATING
Patty Garbrick!!! She was awarded
the 2016 AWGA Rep of the Year for
the entire state of Arizona. What
a great honor this is!! We are
proud to have Patty as part of
our “Village” family.
When asked what she enjoys the most
about being a Rep, Patty replied, “I enjoy
bringing information to my club about such
a great organization that encourages golf
for all ages, from those just beginning, to
those in the twilight years of their game.”
She also likes meeting other Reps and
swapping ideas, as well as being able to volunteer at LPGA events like the Founder’s
Cup and Walgreens Charity Classic, where
she can help answer questions for people
interested in learning more about golf. Former AWGA Board Member and Briarwood’s
Rules Chair, Cindy Bryniarski, shares with
us that Patty even goes out of her way to
support Briarwood’s Medallion players by
bringing them snacks and hand warmers
on game days!
AWGA Reps are liaisons between women’s
leagues and the AWGA. They encourage
club members to participate in AWGA
events and seminars, and keep club members updated through varios communications and meetings. This year’s AWGA Rep
