Adding and Subtracting Money
✔ First, line up the decimal
points of the numbers you’re
adding or subtracting.
Example: You want to buy a plum
pie from the Jack Horner Corner. It
costs $12.99, and you pay with a
$20 bill. What change will you get?
✔ Add or subtract as if they
were whole numbers. Place
the decimal point in the
answer in line with the other
decimal points.
