The Grand Tetons are located between Yellowstone Park and Jackson, Wyoming. They are awe
inspiring mountains, with their jagged peaks soaring to the sky and the Snake river running along their
base. The area is amazingly rich in wildlife: elk, moose, deer, antelope-- and even wolves are
discovering it again.
Snuggled in beneath the towering Tetons, in the middle of this richness, is a beautiful valley called
Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
To a mountain man, a hole was a valley surrounded by tall mountains. To a skier or snowboarder,
Jackson Hole is a
couple of the biggest ski mountains in the United States. To the rest of us,
Jackson Hole is one of God's great gifts to our eyes and senses.
In the Spring and Summer, when valley streams and rivers swell with a
winter's worth of snow and herds of wildlife head to the hills to enjoy the
greenery, Jackson Hole has long played host to the family on summer
vacation. Arriving in Jackson Hole, the question is not "what is there to do?"
but "we must stay longer!" In the 2002 Family Fun Magazine Reader's Poll,
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort was named TOP FAMILY RESORT in
Mountain/Plains division. Neighboring Yellowstone National Park was rated
the number three highest scoring attraction in America.
Teton Village, nestled against the Teton Mountains at the base of Jackson
Hole Mountain Resort continues to be a popular destination for visiting families during the summer.
Just one mile from the entrance to Grand Teton National Park, families welcome the convenience of
lodging, restaurants and activities as well as all the Park access. The Aerial Tram rises 4,139 above the
valley offering incredible views of Jackson Hole and the Tetons. Once on top of Rendezvous
Mountain, hiking is available into surrounding Bridger-Teton National Forest. Summer guides offer
moderate hikes from the top, educating summer naturalists on the surrounding flora and fauna.
In the winter, the Jackson Hole Mountain (Ski) Resort offers fields of powder, miles of ungroomed
trails and one of the largest continuous vertical drops in the country -- 4,140 feet. Yet, with terrain
spreading over two mountains, there's also more intermediate skiing than at most areas.
Jackson Hole Ski Resort comprises 2,500 acres of terrain, with more than 22 miles of machinegroomed beginner and intermediate runs. This alone is equal to the total terrain of many major resorts.
Also included in the mix are 17 km trail system and a Nordic Ski School; heli-skiing; and much more.
There are many options for the winter enthusiast in Jackson Hole. Olympic Gold,
Silver and Bronze Medalist Pepi Stiegler initiated a disciplined ski school to
offer the best in technique and fundamentals. Lessons in alpine and Nordic
skiing as well as snowboarding are offered.
Children delight in the Kids Ranch where they can become a Tenderfoot,
Wrangler or Rough Rider.
Helicopter and snowcat skiing offer virgin acres of nearby powder throughout
three of the mountain ranges surrounding Jackson Hole. Dinner sleigh rides offer
a nice way to conclude the end of an eventful day.
Yet with all this to offer, Jackson Hole until recently was primarily a summer destination, leaving all
that snow and all those trails practically empty in the winter.
All that is changing now, and Jackson Hole is fast becoming a major ski destination in the western
USA.
The Teton Club, a joint venture between the Jackson Hole
Mountain Resort and Raintree Resorts International, offers
vacation ownership in luxury, private 2 and 3 bedroom
condominiums located trailside next to the world famous
