THE OMEN STORY
IT WAS A SIGN...
High on the hilltops in California sits an abandoned
monastery that undisputedly has the best view of
of the Santa Rita Hills. It is here that Atlas Vineyard
Management is lucky enough to farm what is
considered to be one of the best places on the
planet to grow Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
One Spring day in 2014, an AVM team member took
and instagrammed a photo of the monestary. The
photo was hauntingly beautiful so we printed it out
and taped it to a wine bottle. We thought it would
make a great label.
Office visitors loved the bottle and excitedly asked if
that was our own wine that we were making. After
what seemed liked hundreds of inquiries it was
obvious that it was a SIGN! We needed to make our
own wine, and so OMEN was born.
Today that original Instagram photo is still featured
on our Sierra Foothills Red Blend bottle and it has
inpired a series of other photos and wines that we
are proud to offer as part of our OMEN line.

We pick our amazing Zinfandel just south of Placerville,
at an elevation of 2,306 ft (!). Here in the Fair Play AVA,
the high mountainside and deep granite soils develop
grapes for intense wines. It’s astounding to us that this
area has been growing incredible wine grapes since the
California Gold Rush, yet it is still a relatively unknown,
untapped goldmine of high quality fruit!

OMEN ZINFANDEL
Our Omen Zinfandel is a tribute to classic California
wine history. In the glass you’ll find a youthful ruby
red-color. On the nose there are aromatics that range
from raspberry, strawberry but are strengthened with a
back bone meatiness. Rich and focused in the palate,
the minimal oak treatment brings a touch of spice and
baking notes. Melting tannins and great length makes
for a perfect finish.

2,500 acres of top-tier vineyards like Durell, Gap’s Crown, and
Sun Chase (just to name a few).
With insider access to all of these amazing blue chip vineyards,
we would have been foolish not to make wine of our own.
And we didn’t make just any wine. Our wines are hand- crafted
with care from high-quality fruit that have come from AVA
vineyards. They are free of sweeteners and additives.
