JOSEPH CIPOLLA SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER 93 N FARVIEW AVENUE PARAMUS, NJ AUGUST 2016 A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR August 21st is NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS DAY On August 19, 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5847 declaring August 21 as National Senior Citizens Day. This day was created as a day to support, honor and show appreciation to our seniors and to recognize their achievements and the contributions they make to our community. To celebrate National Senior Citizens Day, it is suggested to spend time with the senior citizens that you know, which may be your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and friends. Since August 21st is on a Sunday this Year, I would like every senior that is reading this newsletter to know how appreciated, special and dear you are to us here at the senior center. Our hope at the center is that all who attend feel welcomed and appreciated. This is written with great affection and appreciation for all of you who have touched my life.
