1. Getting Around the Quad Cities
1.1. About the Quad Cities
Sharing the Mississippi River, the Quad Cities encompasses cities and counties in
both Iowa and Illinois, and comprises a vibrant community of 400,000 people.
The Quad Cities actually consists of five neighboring cities flanking the Mississippi
River in Iowa and Illinois in the Midwestern United States.

Before World War II, the area was known as the “Tri-Cities“, and included only
Davenport, Rock Island, and Moline. With the growth of Rock Island County, East
Moline was eventually given “equal status,” and the region became known as the
“Quad Cities” during the early 1960s.
By the 1970s, Bettendorf had grown such that many people in the community
openly discussed the adoption of the name “Quint Cities“. However, by this time,
the name “Quad Cities” had become known well beyond the area and Quint Cities
never caught on.

This is the only Indian restaurant in Moline--so I can say without hesitation that
it's the best. The food is not bad. There's a small Indian Grocery attached which
sells some spices and imported goods. It's good to have an Indian restaurant in
Moline.

1.7.1. JOHN DEERE PAVILION
The John Deere Pavilion was created as a celebration of the past, present and
future of agribusiness. It has attracted guests from all corners of the globe and is
recognized as the world’s most comprehensive agricultural exhibit.
John Deere’s dream of producing a superior self-scouring plow for the western
farmer became a reality in 1848, with his first manufacturing plant located on the
banks of the Mississippi River. This history-shaping development in agriculture is
preserved and celebrated at the Pavilion. Interactive exhibits mingle with actual
John Deere equipment, creating a unique, hands-on experience for visitors.

The Putnam Museum opened its 3D IMAX Theatre on March 16, 2002, and was the
only 3D theatre in the state of Iowa.
The Putnam's IMAX® features a giant screen six stories tall and seven stories wide;

1.7.3 Modern Woodman Park ( Home of the Quad City River Bandits)
Modern Woodmen Park is a minor league baseball venue located in Davenport,
Iowa. It is home to the Quad Cities River Bandits, a single-A affiliate of the
Houston Astros. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, in the
shadow of the Centennial Bridge. Home run balls to right field often land in the
river. This sports complex is an Adult & Kid friendly environment.
Tickets range from $5-$13. Whatever level of seating you choose, it is well worth
the money. With parking essentially free and the views from the stadium,
Modern Woodmen Park is a great deal.
