TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
POLYPRIMER HP STRADA is an adhesion-promoting primer formulated with bitumen, elastomers, fast-drying select additives
and pure solvents that is used to help the application of traditional and self-adhesive polymer bitumen membranes.
WHERE TO APPLY
POLYPRIMER HP STRADA is used as a fast adhesion-promoting primer to stop concrete dust and saturate open pores on
flat and sloping concrete or metal surfaces as well as over old bitumen coverings to improve the adhesion of polymer bitumen
membranes. POLYPRIMER HP STRADA can also be applied on asphalt and on slightly damp surfaces (maximum 3%) as well
as on concrete bridge and viaduct decks. The elastomers used in the product’s formula help the application of polymer distilled
bitumen membranes, both torch-on or self-adhesive, ensuring a more elastic dry film and excellent adhesion to the substrate.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND TIPS
POLYPRIMER HP STRADA can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray gun. All surfaces to be treated must be dry or
slightly damp; they must also be clean, sound and free of oily or greasy residues. Once stirred, the product is ready for use and
does not require thinning. The amount of product to be used will depend on substrate conditions and the thickness of the film
you want to achieve: on concrete surfaces in a good state of repair, the amount of product will usually be approx. 200-350 g/m2;
the consumption rate may drop to approx. 150 g/m2 on metal or bitumen surfaces. Subsequent waterproofing should be installed
only once the film has been allowed to dry and, in any case, only when weather conditions are favourable. Following application,
the film will usually take roughly 1 hour to dry, though it may take up to 2-4 hours when dealing with thick coats of material,
harsh temperatures or surfaces that are not very absorbent. It is advisable to apply the first waterproof layer once the product
has dried completely: usually waiting at least 12 hours. Before applying membranes, always make sure that the solvents have
evaporated completely.
The use of solvent-based products in populated areas where people live or work is not recommended: it is advisable to use a
water-based primer “Idroprimer” for refurbishment projects or new roofs in such areas. It is also not advisable to use the product
on wet or very damp surfaces, inside homes, in poorly ventilated areas, tanks or indoors in general.

SAFETY REGULATIONS
POLYPRIMER HP STRADA is highly flammable. You are advised to keep it away from sources of ignition, do not smoke, take precautionary measures
against static discharge and work in well-ventilated areas.
In addition, it is harmful by inhalation, may be fatal if swallowed and enters respiratory tract, is irritating to skin and may cause drowsiness and dizziness.
You are advised to wear gloves, safety eyewear and a face mask fitted with filters during application, observing usual chemical handling precautions.
In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Do not use around pregnant women.
