Once Upon a Summer Estuary 2017 for ages 2-5
10:30-11:30 on Thursdays in July and August. Children, with an adult,
are invited to come listen to a story, play games and make a craft. Many activities will be
outside so please come dressed ready for some outdoor fun! $3 per child or $5 per
family. Pre-registration is required. Please call 778-0015 and ask for Jay or Beth or

Thursday July 6th “Welcome Home Bear:” by Il Sung Na
Do you know why a bear's home is different than a snake’s? Join us as we learn about
different animals and the places they call home . Then make a craft to take home to
yours!
Thursday July 13th “When the Tide is Low” by Sheila Cole
Do you know who lives on the mudflats of Great Bay? Come explore with us as we
catch some critters and have fun getting a little muddy!
Thursday July 20th “All Around Me I See” by Laya Steinberg
Join us as we look around and notice all the beauty in nature that surrounds us. Then
try some painting so you can take some beauty home with you!
Thursday July 27th “Fossils Tell of Long Ago” by Aliki
Come learn about fossils and how they’re made. We’ll turn you into fossil hunters as
you dig for treasures and make a fossil to take home.
Thursday August 3rd “Yucky Worms” by Vivian French
Come find out why worms are so wonderful! Join us as we explore to find
and observe some up close. Then make a wormy craft to take home!
Thursday August 10th “Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! By Bob Barner
Join us as we go on a safari for bugs. We’ll look up, over , under and all
around to see how many we can find! Then we’ll make a buggy craft.
Thursday August 17th “This is the Sea that Feeds Us” by Robert Baldwin
Do you like to eat? So do the animals in and around Great Bay! Come do a little
taste testing and learn about what they eat and how it helps you eat too!
