MORDIALLOC COLLEGE JOB DESCRIPTION 2015 Instrumental Music – Woodwind Time Fraction: 0.5 Fixed Term: 28/01/15 to 27/01/16 POSITION DESCRIPTION This position is aimed at accommodating the instrumental music program within the College. Instrumental music is an important program within the extra curricular program of the College which requires nurturing and developing. It must be regarded as a fundamental focus in relation to the College image. Demonstrated understanding of initiatives in student learning including the Standards, the Principles of Learning and Teaching P‐12 and Assessment and Reporting Advice and the capacity to implement curriculum programs consistent with their intent. 2. Demonstrated high level classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning. 3. Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning data and to use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning. 4. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills including a capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and other staff. 5. Demonstrated commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities and a commitment to ongoing professional learning to enable further development of skills, expertise and teaching capacity. 6. (School Criterion) Demonstrate an understanding of the College ethos and an ability to undertake duties as described in the position statement. "People who have professional expertise in the area but do not have current provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching may apply. Preference will be given to applicants with teacher training. Applicants who are not eligible for provisional or full registration will be required to obtain permission to teach from the Victorian Institute of Teaching prior to commencing employment."
