graders for hosting a terrific school carnival
last Friday. It made a great afternoon for our
community. I appreciated their creativity,
enthusiasm, and leadership. Many thanks to
everyone that joined in on the festivities. On
behalf of the students that hosted the soda
toss and cake walk, thank you parents for
bringing in many liters of soda and bakery
items that kept those two booths busy
throughout the afternoon. I think there were
plenty of treats to be enjoyed by all.
Parents may have heard from their children
about the new arrival at St. Paul Parish
School last week. Our long-awaited, beautiful
statue of Our Blessed Mother Mary traveled
to us from New Jersey and is now at home in
the Marian Garden. Children have been
visiting her during recess and free periods
with such sweetness that it would melt your
hearts. We extend special appreciation to
Jason Martin and his crew who lifted and
safely secured this 800 pound statue into
place. Please know you are all welcome to
sign in at the office anytime and come see our
new addition.

Congratulations on a job well done with the
Running Down the Dream Jog-A-Thon. I
greatly appreciate everyone’s efforts to make
it a successful fundraiser and fun community
event. We raised over $19,000! Thank you to
the many volunteers, sponsors, donors,
students, and staff that supported the Jog-AThon. It was fabulous seeing so many of you
with us at the track last Friday. Thank you!

On Monday night, we will commemorate the St.
Paul Class of 2017 through a celebration of
Mass, recognition of their
academic success with
diplomas and awards, and honor them at a
reception. This is always
a bittersweet time of
year because we say goodbye to a group of
students who have been part of our family for
many years. These students have blessed our
school community in many ways. They have a
servant attitude, are joyous,
outgoing, and
especially kind and compassionate to the
younger members of our
school.
Please feel welcome to join us Monday evening
reception that
at 6:30 for Mass and the
immediately follows. I also ask that you please
continue to keep our graduates
in your prayers
as they move into a new phase of their lives. We
thank God for the treasure they have been at St.
Paul, and may their high school years be filled
with much happiness, learning, and the gifts of
always call St. Paul
the Holy Spirit. May they
home and may they always know God and trust
in Him in all that they do. Congratulations to the
St. Paul Class of 2017.
And, drum roll, please! We have a new baby to
announce! Kristen Mikilas, our Kindergarten
teacher, gave birth to Xander
James on Tuesday.
Kristen, husband Chris, and baby are all doing
well.

Summer Tutoring at
St. Paul Parish School
Are you looking for ways to help
your child continue to make
academic gains this summer? We
know the importance of maintaining
reading, writing, and math skills
during the summer. St. Paul teachers
are offering a few opportunities here
at school.
Linda Silva and Caitlin Breitenstein
are offering tutoring on an individual
or possibly a small group basis. They
will be available on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays
beginning July 5.
They will also be conducting two
book groups this summer for
incoming 3rd through 5th graders who
want to meet after reading one of
next year’s OBOB books. More
information will be coming soon.
A Very Special Thank-you to
Mr. DiPaolo!
You all know wonderful Mr. DiPaolo!
He has organized the collection of Cans
and Bottles every month for many
years. His granddaughter will graduate
on Monday, so last week was his last
week to volunteer in that program. We
all say thank you, Mr. DiPaolo!
Bookfair Results
Sales from last week’s Bookfair totaled
$2,300.00! That earned us 40% in
purchase credits for St. Paul, some of
which has already been used for OBOB
books for next year. Thank you to
everyone who supported this endeavor.
We are so very grateful to Denise
Grieve and Amy Carson, who have
been doing an amazing job with this
fundraiser the past few years. They
have made it so much fun for staff and
kids. With the graduation of her
daughter this year, Denise will move
on and has passed her torch to another
hard worker, Kim Onstad.
