Please complete a minimum of one task per half term, but of course you may complete as many of the tasks
as you like. You can present your work in any way you wish. We look forward to seeing some of your amazing
creations. Have fun!

Talk
The Vikings invaded many different countries.
Interview 5 or more people and find out which
countries they have visited. Choose a suitable
way to present your results, e.g. table or graph.
Make up three questions about your results and
answer them.
Research a Viking myth or tale and retell this to your
family or a member of the class verbally.
Research
Research the origins of Viking words and place
names and understand what impact these have
had on the English we speak today.
Who did the Vikings worship and what impact did this
have on their day to day lives?
Make a model of a Viking helmet or long ship.
Create a storyboard or comic strip of a Viking tale.
Understand
Why did the Vikings invade Britain?
What are Viking runes and what were they used for?
Experiment
The hull of a Viking long ship was flat,
experiment by making boats with different
shaped hulls and explain what impact this has.
Look up a Viking recipe and experiment with the
different flavours.
Reflect
What are the most interesting facts that you
have learnt during this topic? What else would
you like to find out?
How would you feel if your home was invaded? What
would you have done?
