Grade 4 Student SCA Application

Student Council Association (SCA) – Rising Fourth Grade Application
Fourth graders are eligible to run for the following offices:
Treasurer: The Treasurer has the most technical job of all the school’s officers. He or she must learn specific
bookkeeping skills and use the many types of forms. The Treasurer must be willing to lead and serve with a
positive attitude. It is the responsibility of the Treasurer to keep a record book of all the money the SCA makes
and spends, record every transaction, make sure the records are neat and accurate, and present treasury reports
at SCA meetings. The Treasurer should take great pride in being efficient, organized, and most importantly,
honest. You will work with Mrs. Bellomy to make sure SCA funds are accurate.
Historian: It is the job of the Historian to publicize and keep records of SCA activities. The Historian must
communicate with the student body and the community. He or she is the keeper of the SCA traditions and is
responsible for public relations. It is the responsibility of the Historian to share information with the school
newspaper (if available), work with the Secretary to prepare various items for publicity, and develop a scrapbook
detailing the SCA year. You will also work with the staff yearbook sponsor to record the school year.
Vice-President: The Vice-President is the official replacement of the President, should the President be unable
to fulfill his or her duties. It is the responsibility of the Vice-President to support the leadership of the President.
The Vice-President acts as the coordinator of all committees, including classroom student leaders.
Fourth graders are also eligible to be student leaders:
Student Leaders: Classroom representatives are the direct link between the SCA Officers and students. They
will attend meetings, report information to their assigned classroom(s), collect information from their
assigned classroom(s), and work with the Vice-President. Student leaders are eligible to participate on SCA
committees.
