Pasha Ahmad, Regional Manager, Middle East and Africa, OSIsoft
Pasha is the General Manager of OSIsoft operations in the Middle East and Africa and has held various management roles at OSIsoft in his
over fourteen year career with the company. Prior to OSIsoft Pasha worked for the Standard Oil Company of Ohio and BP Oil Company for
over twenty seven years in various operations management, process control, and information systems management roles. Pasha has also
held various executive positions in the American Petroleum Institute and the International Society of Automation. He is the author of
several papers in industrial automation and information systems management and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology from where he received his BS and MS in Electrical and Systems Engineering
Ronald Bechaalany, Systems Engineer, OSIsoft
Ronald is an Electrical Engineer with a solid background in Software Development and Solutions, with emphasis on real-time database
systems and data warehouses. He has worked for over 8 years on implementing and managing several OSIsoft PI system projects for
different industries including Oil & Gas, Power Generation, T&D, Mining & Petrochemicals.
Russell Herbert, Oil & Gas Industry Principal, OSIsoft
Russell is the Oil & Gas industry principal for OSIsoft and brings extensive experience from within the Oil & gas industry following his time
at both Tullow Oil and Schlumberger. At Tullow Oil Russell managed a variety of Digital Oilfield programmes in UK, Ghana, Kenya and
Uganda involving Tullow’s TAPS (Technology Assisted Production Systems) suite of applications. Russell was also involved with Tullow’s
Global Industrial Control System Security Programme which involved establishing a companywide security framework of policies,
standards and guidelines and then managing the consistent implementation of this framework on all of Tullow’s operating assets and in
flight projects. Russell holds a Degree in Computer Science from the University of York.
Tayeb Taher Al Khaja, Vice President – Generation Plant-2, DEWA
Engineer Tayeb Al Khaja is Vice President of Generation Plant-2 at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), with more than 24 years
of experience at different operational, maintenance and managerial positions and responsibilities. He is leading a group of 5 00 Operation
and Maintenance personnel of high caliber responsible for the operation and maintenance of the largest Generation Plants in DEWA with
a capacity of 5,400 MW electricity generation and 325 Million Gallon potable water production. He started his profession journ ey as
Instrumentation and Control Engineer. He has vast experience in cogeneration and combined-cycle power plants consisting of Gas Turbines,
Back Pressure and Condensing Steam Turbines, MSF/RO Desalination Plants and Boilers from leading OEMs. As an electronics engineer he
also has vast experience in the OT field i.e. DCS and PLC systems from leading OEMs. He is also responsible for the Cybersecurity of Generating
plants deploying Cyber security initiatives based on national and international regulations and standards. He has carried out extensive studies
on Plant Design Improvement, Residual Life Assessment and Lifetime Extension, Risk Assessment and Mitigation, Common Mode Fai lures,
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery with the objective of cost effective plant Reliability and Availability improvement. Tayeb has led
the team for developing corporate wide SMART POWER PLANT application using OSIsoft PI system to realize his vision of integrated
intelligent information system across the authority and leading various other areas as Asset Management & Cyber Securities, etc on behalf
of DEWA.
Dr. Mohamad Faouaz, Account Manager, OSIsoft
Dr. Faouaz joined OSIsoft in 2015 and brings wide industry experience working closely with leading global organisations such as Sabic
helping his clients in the development and delivery of their strategy to meet their business vision and objectives. Dr. Faouaz holds a PhD
in Chemical Engineering from London South Bank University.
Miguel Chavero, Power & utilities Industry Principal, OSIsoft
Miguel is OSIsoft's Power and Utilities Industry Principal and brings over 16 years’ experience working for the utilities industry, in Power
and Water management. Prior to OSIsoft, Miguel spent almost 12 years at Iberdrola as the IT Manager for the Monitoring Diagnostic and
Simulation Center (CMDS) in Spain. CMDS initially focused on Combined Cycle Power stations and later expanded to Nuclear, Coa l and
Cogeneration sites. Miguel's team was responsible for deploying all monitoring and diagnostics applications and supporting real time
initiatives across different business units. Applications focused on Fleet Management, Operational Excellence and Performance and
Efficiency Improvements. Miguel was also responsible for information security in Generation Control Systems, and deployed complex
cybersecurity projects worldwide protecting Critical Cyber Assets. Mr. Chavero is CISSP certified.
Mathew Kirkman, Digital Oilfield Senior Advisor, ADMA
Matthew has a joint honours degree in geology and Mining Engineering, but his 42 year career has been at the intersection of drilling, IT
and subsurface. Matthew spent 27 years with a major service provider, and the last fifteen years at BP. Recently Matthew has been on
loan from BP to ADMA OPCO, where he has lead the strategy for ADMA’s Digital Oilfield initiative, using digital opportunities to improve
production management. Matthew graduated from Nottingham University in 1974 with a joint degree in Mining Engineering and
Geology, and has since worked at the intersection of subsurface, drilling and IT. Starting his oilfield career offshore Calif ornia in 1974, he
has worked in the North Sea, GoM, Onshore US, Middle East, North Africa, Azerbaijan and Norway, and travelled extensively through the
oilfields areas of the world. Following 27 years in a variety of evaluation and drilling roles with a major service company i n Drilling
Performance, Geological, LWD, Software and operational and business development managerial roles, he joined BP in 2001. In 1978
Matthew was the first LWD operator for one of the major service companies, and played a key role in the development of Geosteering as a
technology and developing real time drilling performance services.Initially joining BP to manage the global Drilling and Completions
software portfolio, which included guiding the WitsML digital standards initiative, in 2004 Matthew moved to a drilling funct ional role in
Azerbaijan, involved in both DTS surveillance and smart completions. In 2007 Matthew moved to a cross discipline technology strategy
role, which including Azerbaijan’s Field of the Future program. From 2008 Matthew worked in London as Technology Manager for BP
Azerbaijan and Angola across all disciplines, and in 2010 took up a role as a secondee to ADMA OPCO, as Digital Oilfield Senior Advisor. In
his role at ADMA OPCO Matthew supports ADMA in the development and deployment of a comprehensive Digital Oilfield program for new
projects and brownfields, in automation, real time data delivery, collaboration and optimisation applications.
Pavlos Panagiotidis, Head of Data Science EMEA/APJ, SAP
Pavlos is the EMEA/APJ lead for Advanced Analytics at the SAP Platform Group, focusing on introducing intelligence to the traditional
transactional and reporting processes. As part of his role he helps customers realize business benefits and gain competitive advantage
by leveraging the SAP HANA platform, Advanced Analytics tools and Big Data Architecture. Has held various positions around analytics
as a researcher, consultant and manager, His 20 years of professional experience spans across Scientific Research, Industrial
Engineering, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics, Solution Architecture and Team Leadership. He has advised CXOs and delivered
innovative solutions at large enterprises globally. With this experience he has excelled in executive communication, business
development, innovation delivery, collaborative business case development and thought leadership for the ENR and Manufacturing
Industries. Pavlos has been a top performer throughout his career, achieving multiple awards and promotions. Twice in his career he
has lead the creation of successful analytics teams. Using this personal experience, he advises large enterprises on how to create a data
driven organization.
