When and Where
Wednesday 3rd – Thursday 4th May 2017
Cultural Forecourt South Bank, (near the big wheel)
110km – Wednesday 3rd May 6.30pm –(arrive 30mins before or for vigil at 5.30pm)
Overnight runners please report to the Information Tent near the big wheel (Command Centre)
10km – Thursday 4th May 5.30am –(arrive 30mins before or for warm up at 4:45am)
3km – Thursday 4th May 6.00am –(arrive 30mins before or for warm up at 4.45am)
Please be aware that the annual Red Rose Foundation Candle Lighting Vigil will be in progress from
5.30pm - 6.30pm on 3rd May at the Cultural Forecourt. The vigil honours lives lost to domestic violence
and your quiet and respectful approach is appreciated. All are welcome to attend the vigil.
The 110km run will be launched from the stage directly following the candle lighting vigil.
Participants will be led to the start line by former Australian of the Year and domestic violence advocate
Rosie Batty and Darkness to Daylight founder Robert Reed. Rosie will carry a candle to the start line
and Robert will perform the opening drumming.
When you arrive at the Cultural Forecourt
Thursday 4th May
4.45am - 5.20am: Warm up session for 10km/3km
Join us for a warm up session hosted by Nathan Carr from Peak Training Facility - Former Youth World
Champion Sprinter on the grassed area of the Cultural Forecourt.
5.25am: 10km run briefing
Australia's CEO Challenge CEO Jacque Lachmund and 97.3FM breakfast host Bianca Dye, will brief
runners from the stage and direct them to the start line.
5.30am: 10km runners set off
5.55am: 3km walk briefing
Please go directly to the stage on the grassed area of the Cultural Forecourt. Australia's CEO Challenge
CEO Jacque Lachmund and 97.3FM's Bianca Dye, will brief walkers and direct them to the start line.
6.00am: 3km walkers set off
Closing ceremony
The closing ceremony is an important part of the event where we come together to reflect on why we
have run and what we have achieved together as a community – bringing the issue of domestic and
family violence into the light. We will close the run with a traditional drumming.
Please return to the grassed area of the forecourt upon completing your run or walk. All participants are
encouraged to attend the closing ceremony at 7.15am followed by a FREE breakfast.

What do I need to complete the 110km challenge?
We recommend that you:
have a medical check-up before you do this challenge
bring a water bottle or hydration belt - water is provided at each turn-around point and marshal point 9
(start/finish line). Council water taps can be found along the route and at marshal points 5, 6 and 10.
bring your own supplies of spare clothes, food, energy food/drinks; particularly if you are covering the distance
yourself. These can be stored at marshal point 9.

wear high visibility gear
wear a head torch
What do I need to complete the 10km and 3km challenge?

A bottle of water
comfortable clothing/ check the weather forecast in order to gauge suitable clothing
have a medical check-up before the event, if required

Please note all baggage is the responsibility of the participant. All bags must be on your person or left in
your team marquee. Please do not under any circumstances leave bags unattended.
What is provided?

a participant pack including a t-shirt, bag and water bottle along with your numbered race bib is included in your
registration. A unique bib number is allocated to each participant. For safety purposes do not to swap or change
bibs with another participant
water is provided at each turn-around point and marshal point 9 (start/finish line). Council water taps can be
found along the route and at marshal points 5, 6 and 10.
Food, coffee and other drinks will be available for purchase from food vans at the Cultural Forecourt
Queensland Police Service and Australian Defence Force personnel will be on-site throughout the night for
added security
Queensland Ambulance will be on-site for the duration of the event to cater for any emergencies. Please note all
marshal points will be equipped with basic first aid kits
Warm up session with Nathan Carr from Peak Training Facility - former Youth World Champion Sprinter (see
above for times)
FREE breakfast including bacon and egg muffins, seared chicken wraps and a vegetarian option.

Participant packs
All participant packs will be available for collection from Waterfront Place, 1 Eagle St, Brisbane. We will advise you
by email when the packs are ready for collection and precise pick up point.
Corporate Teams - Please liaise with your team captain regarding collection of your packs.
Social Teams - Please liaise with your team captain regarding collection of your packs.
Individual – We will advise you by email when the packs are ready for collection.
