FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Watch the Hound Dog
Being Hounded by a
Pretty Poodle
What a guy dog will do to
impress a girl dog! Just ask
Horatio, The Flop-Eared Hound
Dog, who is having a great time
playing in the mud.
The fun really starts for young
readers when the filthy Horatio is
criticized by Missy Prissy, a
beautiful poodle, who offers to
clean him up. Horatio never
dreams that Missy Prissy will
bring out her curling iron and
dryer, and he becomes very
nervous! The rather inept poodle
starts to work on poor Horatio,
and singes some hair on his ear
with her curling iron. When
Horatio tries to run away, Missy Prissy starts setting Horatio’s ears with rollers.
Learn what happens next for Horatio, as Missy Prissy continues his makeover by reaching for the
hairspray. Watch the fur fly in the hilarious new children’s book Horatio, The Flop-Eared
Hound Dog.
“As young children are experiencing life lessons, they often approach them timidly with a fear of
the unknown. Horatio, the hound dog, is no different. When a cute little poodle suggests he needs
a new look, he is enticed into trying it. But as she insists that ‘more is best’ … Horatio begins to
wonder what he has gotten himself into. This precious tale, told cleverly by Lillian Webb Taylor,
is both inviting and intriguing. Preschoolers will find themselves invested in Horatio’s adventure
as he confronts Missy Prissy.” – Vicki Payne Parrish, Ph.D., professor of theater and creative
dramatics, Northwestern State University of Louisiana
