Presentation 1: Paul Burley
Stonehenge and Cranborne Chase – Monuments to the Origin of Life
Contrary to current archaeological interpretation of British Neolithic landscapes, Stonehenge,
Avebury and other sacred landscapes constructed between 3500 and 2500 BC appear to have been
constructed not only for ritual and ceremony related to burial of the dead, but more importantly as
monuments to the eternal spirit of life. This lecture presents evidence from across the Stonehenge
landscape and Cranborne Chase in Dorset for the Neolithic observation and mapping of part of the
night sky that for many cultures around the world represented the cosmic source of spirit. That area
of the cosmos includes the stairway to heaven bringing together the masculine and feminine – the
spiritual and material – creating life on Earth. Our research suggests astronomical observations may
have been made and recorded with high precision at Cranborne Chase, with the results mapped
onto the Stonehenge sacred landscape ca. 3500 BC.
Bio
Paul Burley, MSc is an environmental geologist, geotechnical engineer and author with research
interests in architecture, engineering, science and technology of indigenous and ancient cultures. His
expertise includes sacred symbolism expressed around the world and throughout time. His book
‘The Sacred Sphere’ details the origin, mysticism, and world-wide spiritual and cultural history of the
sphere as a symbol of the four sacred relationships between humans, Earth, cosmos and creator of
life. The book resulted in a new paradigm for understanding the sacred life way of ancient and
indigenous cultures. Paul’s book ‘Stonehenge: As Above, So Below’ is a #1 best seller in the
prehistory of Britain. The book identifies the previously unrecognized ‘Grand Design’ of the midNeolithic sacred landscape and the original purpose of megalithic Stonehenge. Currently he is
completing his PhD in archaeo-geology at the University of Minnesota.

Presentation 2: Hugh Newman
The Giants of Stonehenge and Ancient Britain
In honour of Anthony Roberts’ Sowers of Thunder book (1978), Hugh will explore the mystery of the
legendary giants of the British Isles, looking at the the founding of Britain by Brutus who defeated
the giant called Gogmagog, the Fomorians and Fir Bolg of Ireland, the mighty megalith builders of
England, the ‘Cawr’ giants of Wales; as well as the surprising amount of news accounts of the bones
of giants being unearthed that give credence to the legends. Numerous oversized skeletons were
said to have been found near Stonehenge, and over 60 other skeletons (and bones) have been
reported across Britain, as well as numerous giant artefacts. Hugh will look at the archaeological
evidence, decode the legends, and reveal the stories that say a thriving populations of powerful
tribes ruled ancient Albion from over 6,000 years ago, and may have been responsible for the
megalithic constructions. He will also look at the power of the myths; the stories of how they could
affect weather, had shaman powers and the impact that they had on civilisation. But did they really
exist, or are they simply the stuff of legend?
Bio
Hugh Newman is a world explorer, megalithomaniac and author of 'Earth Grids: The Secret Pattern
of Gaia’s Sacred Sites' and co-author of 'Giants On Record America’s Hidden History, Secrets in the
Mounds and the Smithsonian Files’ (with Jim Vieira). He has been a regular guest on History
Channel’s 'Ancient Aliens' and 'Search for the Lost Giants' and has articles published in Atlantis Rising
(US), New Dawn (Australia), Nexus (UK/AUS) and numerous other publications. As well as organising
the Megalithomania conferences and tours, he co-organises the Origins Conference in London with
Andrew Collins and has spoken at events in the UK, Malta, France, Peru, Egypt, Bosnia and North

Presentation 3: Laird Scranton
The Mystery of Skara Brae: Neolithic Scotland and the Origins of Ancient Egypt
Drawing on his in-depth knowledge of the connections between the cosmology and linguistics of
Egyptian, Dogon, Chinese, and Vedic traditions, Laird Scranton reveals the striking similarities
between Skara Brae and the Dogon of Mali, who still practice the same cosmology and traditions
they once shared with pre-dynastic Egypt. He shows how the earliest Skara Brae houses match the
typical Dogon stone house as well as Schwaller de Lubicz’s intrepretation of the Egyptian Temple of
Man at Luxor. He explains how megalithic stone sites near Skara Brae conform to Dogon cosmology,
each representing sequential stages of creation as described by Dogon priests, and he details how
the houses at Skara Brae also represent a concept of creation. Citing a linguistic phenomenon known
as “ultraconserved words,” the author compares words of the Faroese language at Skara Brae, a
language with no known origin, with important cosmological words from Dogon and ancient
Egyptian traditions, finding obvious connections and similarities.
Bio
Laird Scranton is an independent software designer from Albany, New York who writes about
ancient mysteries, cosmology and language. His work includes articles published in the University of
Chicago's Anthropology News academic journal, in Temple University's Encyclopedia of African
Religion, and in the Vassar Quarterly Magazine. His book "The Science of the Dogon" was taught at
Colgate University under the title "Hidden Meanings: A Study of the Founding Symbols of
Civilization." He is featured in John Anthony West's "Magical Egypt" documentary series and in
Carmen Boulter's "The Pyramid Code", a series broadcast by the Documentary Channel. He has been
interviewed on a variety of radio programs around the world including Coast-to-Coast AM and Red
Ice Radio in Sweden. He has presented at conferences on Ancient Mysteries including Walter
Cruttenden's annual CPAK (Conference on Precession and Ancient Knowledge) Conference, the
A.R.E. Mysteries Conference, and the Paradigm Symposium.

E.A. James Swagger trained as a Systems Analyst in the energy industry. He has a taught Masters

Western Europe in his spare time traveling around the UK, Ireland, and Denmark. His embrace of a
multidisciplinary approach to the research of megalithic sites, and the larger view of 'passage grave
cosmology' produced his first book, "The Newgrange Sirius Mystery: Linking Passage Grave

Presentation 5: Maria Wheatley
Elongated Skulls of Stonehenge and a lost Goddess Cult
Stonehenge–how was it built, why was it constructed and who built it– are three fundamental
questions that have never been fully answered? Maria will focus on one important question: who
built Stonehenge. She recently discovered that the Neolithic people of Stonehenge had elongated
skulls. They resided and ruled in the Stonehenge environs for nearly 2000 years and raised elongated
monuments that were the largest constructs in prehistory. They appear to have established a
Goddess Cult and then suddenly genocide took place. These enigmatic and peaceful people were
murdered and this factual evidence has gone by unnoticed for over 5000 years. This presentation is
dedicated to their story and untold history.

Maria is a second-generation dowser who was taught by European Master Dowers and Chinese
geomants. Maria is a leading authority on geodetic earth energies and ley lines. She is also an
accomplished author of books on sacred sites and dowsing. She has continued her late father’s

Presentation 6: Crichton E M Miller
Crichton E M Miller FCILT is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, he is
famous for reverse engineering the "Celtic cross" as a Neolithic and Bronze Age navigational
instrument and was awarded two British patents on its design, functionality and practicality for
prehistoric logistics and transport methodology by sea. The proposal is that seafaring and nomadic
hunter gatherers and later traders from the Celtic tribes utilized primitive astronomy coupled with
simple instruments for time keeping, navigation and mathematics. That early timekeeping was
managed by manned watch stations across the planet allowing mariners to accurately travel from
place to place for the purpose of hunting, trading and settling. The ancient system was inherited by
Christendom for over a millennia until it eventually became redundant and forgotten as a result of
the invention of 24 hour Church clocks in the 14th Century AD and the invention of Harrison's
Chronometer for longitude in the 18th Century AD that replaced finding longitude by calibrating the
moon.

the megalithic temples next to it? What is the connection with the mysterious "Edfu Texts" which
speak of the "primordial Time"? Is there a secret chamber underneath the Sphinx as many have

THE GREAT PYRAMID: INTELLIGENT DESIGN?
Jean-Paul Bauval is a qualified architect with decades of design experience. He has put to use his
architectural and mathematical knowledge to 'reverse design' the Great Pyramid. This method
revealed a super-intelligent scheme where many complex mathematical constants seem to be
integrated in the overall design. Why was the King's Chamber offset to the south of the main axis?
Why is the top of the pyramid missing? Why did the ancient architect use prime numbers? What is
the significance of the mysterious number 121 encoded in the design? And, most baffling of all, why
is the the speed of light defined in "metric numbers" appearing in this design? Jean-Paul Bauval will

BIO - ROBERT BAUVAL
Robert Bauval was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1948. His mother was Maltese and his father BelgianItalian, with ancestries in Egypt that go back to pre-Napoleonic days in 1785. Bauval was educated at
the British Boys School and Victoria College in Alexandria. He left Egypt in 1967 and went to England
where he continued his studies at the Franciscan College in Buckinghamshire. In 1973 he obtained a
Higher National Diploma in Building Management with Distinction from the University of the
Southbank in London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in European Marketing with Distinction from the
University of Buckingham. He is fluent in English, French, Italian and Arabic, and also speaks some
Spanish. He worked as a building engineer in England, the Sultanate of Oman, Iran, Sudan, Guinea,
Ivory Coast, Saudi Arabia and France.
In 1983 Bauval developed a theory that correlates the three pyramids of Giza with the three stars of
Orion’s Belt (known internationally as ‘The Orion Correlation Theory’ or OCT for short) and, with the
support of Egyptologist Sir I.E.S. Edwards, published a paper in the Oxford Journal Discussions in
Egyptology in 1989. In 1994 Bauval published his first book, The Orion Mystery (with Adrian Gilbert),
which was a No.1 bestseller in the UK, and also an international bestseller translated in more than
twenty-five languages. He co-authored and authored several other bestsellers: Keeper of Genesis
(1996), Secret Chamber (1999), Talisman (2004), The Egypt Code (2006), Black Genesis (2011),
Breaking the Mirror of Heaven (2012), The Master Game (2012), Imhotep the African (2013), The
Vatican Heresy ( 2014); Secret Chamber Revisited (2014) The Soul of Ancient Egypt (2015). Bauval is
currently working on a book with the astrobiologist professor Chandra Wickramasinghe. Bauval has
appeared on many National and International television channels including BBC, ABC, NBC, Fox-TV,
CNN, RAI, HISTORY CHANNEL, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, DISCOVERY CHANNEL, FRANCE A3, and
CHANNEL FOUR UK. Bauval lives with his wife Michele in Southern Spain, near Malaga. They have

Presentation 8: David Rohl
Rostau: A Necropolis and Ritual Site at Giza Before the Pyramids
David's presentation will explore the archaeological evidence for a pre-4th Dynasty ritual site at Giza,
including huge rock-cut tombs, megalithic temples, constructed in the style of Mesopotamian
examples from Uruk in southern Iraq, and a processional way linking eastern and western horizons,
all focused on the enigmatic Sphinx. He will present further evidence, which suggests prehistoric
contact between Mesopotamia and Egypt by sea. David believes that this was the catalyst for the
birth of pharaonic civilization. Could the ritual site of Rostau (Giza) represent the apogee of that
cultural marriage between the astronomer priest of predynastic Egypt and the Shebtiu builder gods
of Sep Tepi (the ‘First Time’), who came from the east, bringing Thoth’s sacred knowledge of writing
and architecture with them?

David Rohl is recognized as the UK’s highest profile Egyptologist and one of the world’s best-known
historians. Always controversial, he is not only a writer of bestselling books on ancient history and
archaeology but also an explorer, TV presenter and internationally renowned public lecturer. With
degrees in Egyptology, Ancient History, Mycenaean Archaeology and Levantine Archaeology, David is
a genuine scholar with a full list of academic credentials but, at the same time, is seen as a highly
original thinker.
