General Newsletter - Papakura Normal School

Newsletter No 26
1st September 2016
Tena Koutou Katoa, Talofa Lava, Greetings to you all,
Our apologies for putting the wrong date on this last week, it is on Friday September 16th that staff will be attending the
paid union meeting at Manukau. This is around future funding of schools and is to be attended by secondary teachers,
primary teachers and principals. It starts at 1.00pm so we will need to finish school at 12.00 noon in order for teachers to
have lunch and get to the meeting. I do apologise, I realise that this is inconvenient for parents but it is an important issue
for schools. Bizzy Bodz will run a programme on this afternoon but you will need to book for this.
Reading Together
We had our last Reading
Together Programme yesterday. Thank you to the
great turn out for this terms
sessions. It was great to see
parents using the techniques
shown and giving positive
feedback on how they were
now achieving rewards with
their child’s learning in
general.

Papakura Normal School—Board of Trustee
Casual Vacancy for an elected trustee.
A casual vacancy has occurred on the board of trustees for
an elected parent representative. The board has resolved
under section 105 of the Education Act 1989 to fill the
vacancy by selection. If ten percent or more of eligible
voters on the school roll ask the board, within 28 days of
this notice being published, to hold a by-election instead
to fill the vacancy, then a by-election will be held. Any
eligible voter who wishes to ask the board to hold a byelection should write to: Chairperson, Board of Trustees,
Papakura Normal School, 143 Porchester Road, Papakura.
By: 3.00 pm on 29th September 2016.

When misuse of the internet is so widespread it was very sad that
